"No, I got it." She opened the cabinet and moved some things around before knocking on the back wall and grinning. "Perfect." She pulled a throwing knife off her belt and used it to pry the back wall down. A false panel. Inside were some pictures, extra weapons and cash, as well as a locket. She put the pictures and cash in her pockets, added the weapons to her belt and put the locket around her neck before looking at the picture inside. The picture was of her and her sister as children.
Jacob merely waited, digging into his inner coat pocket topull out his pocket watch he had but rarely used. He had no sense of time orlittle care for it, really, but for the moment he had to be mindful of itspassing. He wondered to himself if it would be alright if he and Grace pairedup more often than him and Evie. Yes, him and Evie were with one another sincebirth and knew how to fight alongside each other, but did that truly make adifference when she was around Henry all the time?
Thinking about that fact—that his sister as old as he—found someonewhereas he was still alone in this cruel world made him recline back againstthe nearby wall with his arms crossed over his chest to try and berate andbelittle the negative thoughts in his head.
