      “ Listen, if I choose t’ name my sword  ‘ s t e v e ‘  , then that should be my OWN business. Not yours.  ———– Besides, does it really matter if its NAME strikes fear int’ their  hearts, if I can jus’ strike IT int’ their hearts, instead? “

“Is that a challenge or an invitation, sweetheart?”

“And who bloody asked you?” the vampire snorted. His crypt was becoming a bleedin’ tourist attraction these days, unwelcome visitors always making themselves at home.

         “ Ah, don’t bother. I mean, I tend to just refer to people as  ‘ filthy humans ‘, so fair’s fair, right? Call it like it is, you won’t offend me. “    Is he lying? Honestly, who knows at this point… there’s no telling what goes on behind that deceptive charm and almost mocking smile. 

             “ Oh, that’s good. That’s what I wanted…                      that is JUST  what I was hoping for! ”

     He stared at the creature who had skewered him – the monster inhabiting his lover – and grit his teeth. “Let her go, Enchantress. Let June go, and I’ll consider leavin’ enough of your heart intact to fill an ashtray.”
