I’m under no illusions that my ambitions aren't of the selfish sort. But I desire them all the same. My tutors, the other warriors, even my father… surely there must be someone who can overwhelm or match my might. If not the king of titans, then who?

Montu, the son of Ra and the God of victory. Believed to be the obvious choice to inherit his father's role as the leader of the Egyptian pantheon, his strength is unrivaled among his people, and as of yet he's not found someone who can truly match him in battle. Though his time outside of his pantheon's territory is monitored and extremely limited, he hopes to find a chance to test his mettle against the Tartarus bloodline and see if he truly is undefeatable, or if one of them can deliver what he truly seeks. A true challenge in battle.

Hail to You, Montu, Bull of Flame, Strong of Arm, none withstand Your name. Lord of the Spear, whose roar confounds, Whose shadow shakes the battle grounds.

You stride before where courage leads, Your breath ignites the heart that bleeds. Breaker of foes, protector of right, Crown me with strength, O Hawk of Might.

i have not been running these past couple months. or working out. or even simply stretching.

but the weather was good today despite the cold, so i went out.

i ran a little. i mostly walked. i invited Them, but it was silent, so i continued on my lonesome.

i sat on a bench to watch the clouds and some kids rowing across the lake, not quite ready to go home, and after a few minutes of stillness, i spotted both of the eagles that live on the lake.

they flew right across the lake toward where i sat before wheeling off in the direction of their nest. it felt like an acknowledgement if nothing else, that i'd understood the requests made of me.

Montu and Nedjem are assigned to deal with a potential beast from the boundary. The older demi-god gives the son of Ra some advice.
