For this, I decided to explain about the world of Hidden Earth.

So the premise of the WIP is that that the fantastical & the simple were once together on one plain of existence. However, centuries ago more fantastic species had growing unease of how humans were starting to hunt them and wars and such and decided to split the realms.

This lead to the existence of Earth and Hidden Earth. Earth is where you find humans, Hidden Earth is where all the other species of a more fantastic sort live and they are their magic are essentially hidden from the humans. Of course, there are some small kingdoms of humans still in Hidden Earth, but they were the ones who chose to stay and live harmoniously. 

Avendia (a species with magic and shapeshifting abilities, whose ancestors are thought to have created the original Earth and other realms) do send some of their kind over to Earth to keep watch over how humans are doing (and sometimes sneak back tech to edit to no longer require human electricity). 

There are several doors between the realms of Hidden Earth and Earth. These take place at certain magic hotspots, like Stone Henge for example.
