Do Not Support Kaiju Box
Please reblog and spread the word! I was a strong supporter of Kaiju Box, purchasing both it’s first and second boxes, but after the hassle it has gone through, I no longer support it or it’s practices.
Kaiju Box is a subscription box company run by one guy, Sal, and run through Facebook & Indiegogo. They offer kaiju related products for around $65, with the main “Exclusive” items being shirts. The rest of the items are generally licensed, and include blind bags, buttons, and stickers among other things. While generally “alright” they are nothing to write home about. The owner also has pretty terrible typing skills, with lots of spelling and grammatical errors as well as inappropriate use of caps. It is overall a very amateur ordeal, but I elected to trust the owner anyway in anticipation of the items I would receive. What I didn’t anticipate was a six month wait to receive my product. When I ordered my first Kaiju Box, it also came a little late, about 3 months later. Kaiju Box #2? Six months. Paid in June, received in January. Had I known this would happen, I would have never ordered a box. And it’s not because of increased customers, Kaiju Box #2 actually had fewer customers than box #1.
The facebook page is full of comments from users asking where there boxes are, and as I publish this there are still users waiting on their boxes. I do believe that everyone will get a box, but the wait for the boxes are insane. I’m also not fond of some of the products, some of which are really lacking in the “exclusive” department and others seem cheap or thrown together. I posted a firm yet critical review of the experience on the Kaiju Box page, only to have it deleted. I’m sad to see Sal stoop this low simply because “it could put him out of business”. If you are running a company, you need to be open to criticism and reviews. The facebook page doesn’t even have a review section! Sal is obviously not a fan of criticism, so I have elected to post it in as many places as I can to reach out to kaiju fans and let them know: “Do not support Kaiju Box!”
