Month 5 On the Road to Mastery
Social media has completely revolutionized the way we communicate as a society. Beyond my cognitive domain, it has changed across the board for marketing reps and advertisers. In the early days, social media was an informal greeting among friends and associates. Today it is the mainstream connection from consumer to business, business-to-business and friend-to-friend.
As I mentioned before I am on the road to mastery, and I just completed my month five class. Before attending my Innovative Public Relations class, I was aware of the drastic trend of social media. However, this class opened my eyes to other benefits in promoting a brand online. Many of the business features are not visible for the average user or consumer. This class exposed additional pros that will increase my network and net-worth.
Clearly I was misguided to think that social media was just some informal network. My journey to mastery has opened my eyes to the possibility of expanding my brand and the brands of current and future clients. I had no idea there was such a thing called the Digital Divide. This one notable ill in our society gave more information than I ever expected. In addition to this, I learned methods and strategies on expanding a brand globally. There were major principles given to cultivate campaigns. I also learned to specify the message according to the audience and seek how to utilize which social medium.
Honestly, I expected to learn strategies on dispelling traditional methods of public relations. However, I was not prepared for the wealth of information given. It challenged my way of thinking and my approach to expanding my brand and my client’s.
The only constant challenge in my journey is remaining technical savvy. Although I am learning daily, it seems to plague every assignment. Just when I think I have something down pack, I am forced to learn another skill. Although this is stressful, I know that in becoming a master I have to sharpen all skills. This class did just that. At the rate I am going with assignments I should be closer to mastery level than ever.
