around town is that we were lucky to escape. our hands have dried to crisps, brown and curling like dead ferns, and we smell like rotting things. our bodies soft stacks of gassed rabbits, eyes brown apples.

Monsters,

After some thought, we have decided to forego print copies. However, the idea of putting out print copies is still near and dear to our hearts, so we’re hoping that, with time, we’ll be able to at a later date.

However, we are thrilled to announce that Monstering will be monetarily compensating contributors, starting with our inaugural issue! This means that all contributors will receive 10 USD in payment for their work, regardless of genre or issue for which the work was accepted. This also means that Monstering will be starting a fundraiser, hosted via Kickstarter. This is still in the works, so keep an eye on our social media profiles for future announcements!

i build for myself a person suit, soft and fleshy, pulled too taut, too tight over my scales. but here it is. here it is, and it’s the best i can do. there is this: it is more convincing than yours. softer, made with the finest materials: petals for my lips; flesh of summer’s last peaches. what is it that’s made you so hard, so unconvincing, so desperate to convince?
