Rise of Raiden (aka a Kirin is pissed that a Rajang disgraced her brother or father and put him in a coma)
So, watching RageGamingVideo's newest Monster Hunter World rewatch has sparked a tiny thing in me--the idea of revisiting Lady Raiden's story.
When she was a young woman training under her brother/father to become [insert title for a god of thunder here orrr something], a Rajang (name unknown) attacked her brother (or her father), stealing his thunder (O`_O) and leaving him in a coma. This was undoubtedly an act of sacrifice on her brother/father's part, as the Rajang was more than likely targeting her.
On that note, maybe there had been rumors of young Kirin-born being slain, no doubt being the workings of that Rajang--a serial killer. But with Raiden's older brother's/father's interference, the last of the killer's victims wasn't a young, inexperienced Kirin learning to harness their powers, but a proud warrior who dedicated his strength and his life to protecting her.
And she was probably done with simply being protected.
Raiden swore an oath of vengeance, taking up the name "Raiden" (as that was probably not her original name) and chasing that killer to the ends of the world to end his life and ensure he couldn't claim another innocent's life and power.
She'd defeat the killer, have introspection and connect with her comatose brother/father, learn that the emptiness she still feels is because while she gained control over her powers over lightning, she'd used it for the wrong reason, and re-emerge to go on a pilgrimage and find herself.
A trek up the coral mountains (ooor something?) would reveal her true power and her true desires: Raiden wanted to protect the innocent and arm them to defend themselves. She'd go on to start the School of Thunder, the school that Jin (Zinogre)--and his parents had--attended.
