In Greek mythology, the Minotaur, was a creature with the head of a bull and the body of a man or, as described by Roman poet Ovid, a being "part man and part bull."

This beastie is not big on being domesticated. In Greek Mythology, the Minotaur was created via the unholy union between Queen Pasiphae of Krete and a bull. Not cute. Essentially, the poor thing was born with a thirst for violence, chaos, and, most of all, the blood of the children of the Gods. Its not his fault, really. It’s just in Asterion’s nature. Plus, he was bullied.

Don’t feel too bad for him, though, because now no one is bullying the Minotaur. This monster is big, bad, and itching for some cute little demigods to feast on. Like that one son of Athena, Woodrow Brown. The boy and his best friend, Emmerich, were minding their own business on their way into New York City from camp to buy a limited edition book Woodrow had his sights set on when the Minotaur caught their scent.

The Minotaur almost had Emmerich for dinner, and the son of Athena as a post-dinner snack, but he was distracted by the scent of a nearby son of Hades. Big three kids are just so much chewier. The son of Athena died, but what difference does just one less demigod make?

Luckily no other children have been claimed by the minotaur since, but with the camp barriers being weakened and new monsters breaking into camp every day, its really only a matter of time.
