if it had been anybody -- ANYBODY ELSE -- declination would pour from his lips in a heart beat. but he just couldn’t, not with her, the way she stared at him so sweetly it made his heart grow painful at the thought of seeing it WASH AWAY so suddenly. ( especially if the reason would be HIM. ) flabbergasted, mouth hung open slightly as if to say what but he couldn’t. he just couldn’t.
a FLASH, too quick for normal movements that left him LAGGING, often other’s would push him to go quicker even when they knew he had done it on purpose. arms swept under her in FLUID gestures, picking her up with seamless effort even with a soft oof pushed from his lips. but he was happy. her smooth skin against his forearms left SCARLET brushed over his cheeks as he averted every and all eye contact with her ( afraid he might DROP her from shock -- over what? ) and merc could only gulp heavily in response followed by dulcet confirmation that he was more than OKAY with it. ❛ sure ... ❜
