❋ Trauma. Fear. Fighting for Your Limitations. ❋ When talking to your friend, therapist, coach, self or partner about your current situation or struggle, ask yourself this: . ↳ Are you fighting for your own limitations? . ↳ Are you putting your emotional + mental + energetic resources into justifying why things are hard, doomed, or not working? . ↳ Are you reinforcing the experiences you do not want by arguing that they are impossible to overcome? . I get it. I've done it. Not that long ago, the symptoms of a trauma I had been through where completely overwhelming. Panic attacks and disassociations that lasted for hours and days. Debilitating fear. My sense of internal safety was a big hot, nonexistent mess. Do I still experience these things? Yes. Do they effect me the same way now? No. Absolutely not. While on the phone with a friend one day, this occurred to me: I am spending a lot of time justifying how bad things are. I am fighting for my own limitations. Life is real. Trauma is real. Our histories are real. Processing, moving through and overcoming are very real. And hard. And scary. And it f*ing sucks sometimes. But we have power. ☆ You are still so powerful. ☆ My experience took a gradual (but really important) turn when I stopped putting so much focus on what was wrong. Focusing on something -- anything -- else, slowly shifted my mind out of the unhelpful state. And eased my fear of being triggered. I had to make other things bigger + more important + more true than the trauma and associated panic and fear that was so all consuming. I had to shift my focus when my mind felt involuntarily hijacked. And it felt impossible to do so. The purpose of this post is not to go on about, treat or diagnose trauma. The purpose of this post is to remind you: You are strong. And capable. And so powerful. You are moving through. You are an overcomer. It is your nature and truth. You are destined for greatness. Love, joy, abundance and healing are inevitably and rightfully yours. Life was made to be really, really good. Your power is yours to take back. It's time to know and believe that everything that has come before this moment is preparing you for what is next. It's time to know that it will all be used for your good. How to make an energetic decision. I often teach the power of ''energetic decisions' to my clients -- to the point that two of my past clients have even tattooed the world 'decide' on their bodies after our work together. While marking yourself with this word is not required, knowing the power of your internal clarity + certainty is. Deciding means I... Choose an outcome. Get clear on a desire. Look at what I do not feel worthy of, what have not allowed myself to have, or what I actually want. Tell myself a truth I have been avoiding around what I need, deserve, desire or require. Recognize that all the situations in my life were created by me and that I have the power to create something else entirely. Choose how something will workout, how I get to be treated in a scenario, what I am available for, what dynamics a situation must begin to operate by... while being open to even better possibilities. Deciding is not a one time thing. Often we decide, don't believe it's possible, rearrange some beliefs, look at our own perceived worth, and then decide again. But as we practice deciding, as we exercise our faith, and we lean into our own power and learn how to use it well -- we move to the level beyond manifestation. Into a life of more natural co-creation. Loved hearing from @TimTebow on what it meant for him to transform his success into significance through his foundations + purpose driving work. The conversation made me think about what it has meant for me to combine success and significance throughout my business. I didn’t just want money. Money without meaning wouldn’t have worked for me. I didn’t just want a large following. Influence without genuine impact would have felt like a waste of people’s attention. I didn’t what impact but not have the ability to support myself. I got, from a young age, that I was meant to make money doing what I love. It has always been about income, impact and influence for me. Where each of the three contribute to growth of the other two. Being on Necker Island with other wildly successful humans made me think a lot about what my job + purpose have been and where I’m going from here. There is a stirring in my heart happening. I’ve felt this before. This is when I ask myself some hard Qs and open up to my next level of all the things I want and more of what I’m meant to have and do. My Controversial Money Beliefs: . >> Earnings don't have to fluctuate. Once you earn at a new level, income does not have to go up and down thereafter. . >> We do not have to choose between spending and saving. I believe in overflow (and such deep sense of worth) that there is more than enough to save, spend, support and invest as you desire. (Sacrifice is not required.) . >> Debt is not bad. Debt is a choice to pay something off over time. While you can realize we are worthy of the things we spent on, no longer be a match to it, and eliminate it -- it is not innately bad or wrong. . >> There have been times where spending money I didn't 'have' or that I was afraid to spend deeply served me. . Let's look at the last one. As I've made large purchases or investments, I've feared being irresponsible with money. . Old idea: Spending money is dangerous. It is to be done v cautiously. Money is always running out. What I've learned to be true: Spending, circulating + releasing money at new levels makes space for more money. This does not mean making random purchases with no significance for the hell of it. It may mean spending on purpose from a state of gratitude while knowing that I am capable of creating and attracting more. It may mean releasing money while knowing that the money will be replenished. It may mean making purchases as a declaration of what you now get to have. When we are fretting, fearing, and controlling around money we are suffocating the natural flow of money. When we trust that it is safe to use money well, while knowing that more is coming, you open up the flow -- allowing money to support you. Your job: When you feel inspired to spend on something that feels big to you, set an intention + desired outcome with that purchase.
