I'd like to apologize for single handedly ruining your life with my blog by telling you a story.
One dreary day, a bluebird was flying home when it started to rain. The bluebird was big and strong, so while the rain annoyed him he knew he would be home soon. On the way, he noticed a butterfly trembling under the petals of a poppy. The raindrops and lightening were too big and frightening for the butterfly, and she didn't think she would ever survive the storm.
The Bluebird knew the poppy fields well, and knew he could help the poor butterfly. "Hello, butterfly! Would you like to go home now?"
"More than anything, sir Bluebird! But I'm afraid I will be drowned by raindrops or exploded by lightning bolts!"
The Bluebird nodded and stretched out his wings. "Fear not, I know these poppy fields well. I can fly you through this labyrinth and to your nest!"
"That would be most kind of you, sir! But every poppy looks like the rest! I've no idea which way my home is!" The butterfly flew close to the Bluebird, and with his wings shielding her from the rain, she felt as if she were floating and her fear ebbed away. The Bluebird kept his flaps slow so the butterfly could keep up.
"Worry not, miss butterfly. Your home is just there, beyond the rainbow that is starting to form. You will be home by the time it completes."
And so it was. The Bluebird guided the Butterfly beyond the rainbow and they remained close until the end of the butterfly's days. But by then, the butterfly had mothered many children who also followed the Bluebird, knowing they would never be lost.
I hope you found some peace and clarity in my story, anon. It is my deepest wish we can both come to be on the same page. Sorry it looks so weird! Tumblr formatting just bugs out sometimes lol.
