“what? Is that a bad thing or something?” you reply head tilted sideways confused as ever.

“No. It’s nothing bad. Just something I never thought I would have.”

“ok… whatever you say Si” you shrug.

You’ve learned to not really question what Simon says. It leads to more confusion, misunderstandings, and more “clues”.

However, Simon knew you would never guess what that meant to him.

All the times he thought of removing himself.

The times he thought he was going to die.

But when you came into his life.

Those thoughts were gone.

Now he just sees a woman.

Who understands him.

Who gets him.

Who never brings up his past.

And that never makes him feel less of himself.

In which he would never stop introducing you as his wife.

Even if he doesn’t show it…

He would choose this life over and over.

Just to be with his dear wife.

Who’s just like him in way.

But full of life.

But slowly losing herself…

To the deep thoughts that he once had.

But can never tell.

And neither of you will never know.

So now he lays by the headstone in which used to be you…

But is no longer.

Even though you never really knew what you meant to him.

He had always known.

And called you…
