the oldest child of the dunleavys and the eldest son. keeper of the family secrets. mortician and funeral home owner. he inherited the position and the business at age 21 — when molly found their dad dead in the mortuary. he’s very serious and somewhat lacks a sense of humor because he has spent a lot of his life under the Weight of it All. molly has not spoken to him since they were 20 years old, but every so often, they will mail him a postcard. he keeps them all pinned to a board in his office. doesn’t really believe molly can see ghosts. their mother is a lot more lax on him and the other brothers for their adherence to familial traditions. has a hard time maintaining romantic and platonic relationships because he has a hard time balancing his work and his life.
