Saturday morning #pr. The Mō’ili’ili Summer Fest returns tonight celebrating the historic Mō’ili’ili and the Obon season! MISSION POSSIBLE: BON THE DANCE
In Japan, summer doesn't officially start until you don the yukata and bon the dance. Tonight's Moiliili Summer Festival is Honolulu's largest annual bon dance. We're particularly excited to eat okonomiyaki (Japanese-style pancakes) and yakisoba (Japanese fried noodles) from OkoGuys. Other food vendors include ColdFyyre Hawaii, Big Island Abalone, Soul Patrol and Onda Pasta.
Even if you've never gone bon dancing before or don't have a yukata, (a lighter, summer version of a kimono) the steps are easy to follow and there's no dress code! You can also go shopping if you'd rather skip out on the dancing--Basique Threads, Cottage by the Sea and other retail vendors will be on site.
