Really wished I’d had this hat on this morning (4/21/21) when I went to muck stalls in my landlords’ barn for my rent and caught them talking to the farrier about “what a shame is that chauvin got convicted for just killing a criminal who deserved it really and honestly police should just be allowed to shoot black people because actually they shoot more white people which is silly when black people are always doing crimes and shooting each other—doesn’t it just make you want to get a gun and take justice into your own hands—but at least it was fun watching all those wannabe rioters leave without having an excuse to steal TVs, haha, and also isn’t it such a shame that they’re secretly keeping some trumpists who tried to stop Biden from stealing the election in solitary confinement somewhere now.”
I need the hat so I’m not just helplessly trapped in my flesh vessel internally screaming “WHAT THE FUCK WHAT THE FUCK i mean I knew they were trumpists and badly closeted racists and possibly Q believers but WHAT THE FUCK how can you BE this way?!”
I haven’t overheard a conversation like this in months and I really forgot how absolutely gut-wrenchingly awful it is to even be in the vicinity of stupidity this potent. I live every day around these idiots and I still can’t fucking believe people like this not only exist but actually manage to pass as ‘decent southern folk’ 90% of the time. Hell still exists and it’s being the only person with critical thinking skills and empathy in a backwards southern town I can’t leave because my family disowned me for not praying enough and my Christian college degree with honors isn’t worth shit.
