Modern Miitopia is Miitopia, but it is more inclined to the present time and basically reflects our reality. Modern Miitopia is somehow connected to Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream since it's more modern than Miitopia. so, we can say that Miitopia is part of Tomodachi Life, but a little unique.

in Modern Miitopia, magic, as Miis can say, doesn't exist there. sure, there's the legend about Miis who saved Miitopia from Dark Lord once and about the curse that run away from Great Sage's power and hid somewhere in Miitopia, and if someone after long time wake it up - it will posses the worker and start the chaos once again... but it gives nothing, since it's just a legend.

the plot

everything is happening in country named Miitopia.

most of the events take place in a city called Greenhorne and in Greenhorne's school.

Emma (3DS Mage) is main characters on behalf of whom all this AU mostly is being conducted. she is the most energetic student in her class, but is often the victim of bullying due to the fact that she believes in the existence of magic and wants to become a mage. she is basically a school pioneer, but she believes she can be more than pioneer.

she just trying to tell that the magic is exist and all things happened in Miitopia is real, people just don't believe her. only people who's trying to cheer Emma up - her best friend Sarah (3DS Cleric), big bro Eric (3DS Warrior), caretaker Billy (3DS Cat) and her father Snaps (Photographer).

because of the constant bullying, she had to see Principal Reggie (King) more than once and explain that she was just sharing her ideas, but she was bullied again.

her homeroom teacher, Sophie (Great Sage), who is a chemistry teacher, is also interested in magic and supports Emma's thoughts about its existence, which sometimes makes colleagues mock him.

one day, Sophie goes to the closet to get the necessary equipment to demonstrate chemical experience, but accidentally finds a scepter, which belongs to Sophie himself. since no one was there, he decided to take the scepter and check if it's even works. unexpectedly, it works, and Sophie realized that maybe Emma was right about magic existence. and if it's so, the legend about evil Dark Lord, the stolen faces, is pretty real, it it's needed a proof.

after school, Sophie tried to show his colleagues that magic nonsense is real and that Miitopia is actually something else than ordinal place, but no one is believed him again, even thought he showed the proof.

later, he tried to show the proof to Emma, since she's the one who mostly talked about legend and magic. and oh boy, she was shocked. the both of them promised to each other that this will be their secret and no one is supposed to know about this scepter anymore.
