Their fingers tightened around the handkerchief as if to make sure it was still there. Silk, soaked through with blood; How were they going to wash that before returning it? Why does it even matter right now? "You okay, kid?" Even shaking, numb to everything around them, they know the question isn't about that. Yet the only words they could force out were, "... m-my eye..." "... will be okay. I'll make sure of it."

I'm biased, but I'd play a VN with them in it, yeah.
