Let’s chat. We've recently observed several anonymous profiles with complaints regarding the assumption that our graphics are AI-generated. We'd like to address this directly.

Outside of roleplay, Mod Soteria works as a programmer and regularly creates graphics, layouts, and web design using a variety of professional editing software. Because modern design software increasigly incorporates AI-assisted features, many completed graphics can trigger false positives when run through AI detection tools, even when they were created manually.

A few examples of why this happens:

-Background removal, portrait blur, and smoothing effects can create textures that AI detectors mistakenly associate with generated imagery.

-Canva is one of the biggest offenders of triggering false positives. Since Canva now utilizes AI throughout much of its platform, even completely hand-built designs have been reported as AI-generated by online detectors.

-Clean vector elements such as icons, shapes, and illustrations often appear "too perfect" for detector algorithms. The absence of natural camera grain or photographic imperfections frequently causes them to be flagged.

-Layered compositions with sharp cut-outs or crisp edges are another common source of false positives, as many AI detectors are trained to identify these characteristics.

For transparency, Canva also offers AI-powered tools through Magic Studio, including features such as:

- Magic Media (Text-to-Image)

- Magic Edit & Magic Eraser

- Magic Expand

These tools are capable of producing genuinely AI-generated content and are far more likely to trigger AI detectors.

However, simply receiving a positive result from an online AI detector is not undisputed proof that an image was generated using AI. In fact, A 2026 independent audit conducted by NewsGuard tested authentic real-world photos across five leading AI image detectors. They found that many detectors mistakenly flagged 40% of authentic, human-made files as AI-generated.

With that said, we kindly ask that refrain from making accusations based solely on detector results. If you have a concern, please bring it to the moderation team privately rather than publicly speculating or harassing members over their work.

As a team, we value creativity and the effort that goes into producing graphics. We do not support using AI as a replacement for genuine artistic skill, particularly given the ethical and environmental concerns surrounding large-scale generative AI. At the same time, it's important to distinguish between AI-assisted software features that exist in nearly every modern editing program and creating artwork entirely through generative AI. They are not the same thing.

We appreciate everyone's understanding and simply ask that discussions surrounding this topic be based on facts rather than assumptions and unverified science.

i think we could all use a little escapism!

Those of you who have been around for a while will know the problems we’ve had with people taking on multiple accounts, lying about it, being caught out, lying about it some more and then trash talking us to the hate blogs or whatever.

Some of you may also know that there’s a large number of people still here that we suspect to be one person handling a number of accounts. This is part of the reason I decided to crack down on role hogging and made the activity rules stricter - because it’s not fair to other people.

I think we’re fairly generous here. We allow people to take on 4 characters as long as they have the time to be active on all of them. I have no problem with people playing multiple characters if they’re up front with me about it and don’t create fake aliases to pretend they’re someone else.

I’ve just done some comparing and realized that the people that are NOT following the new members just so happen to be on what we’ve dubbed, the “List of BTC.”

This list is made up of people who we believe are the same person due to: a) similarities in the characters and the way they talk/act b) similar mannerisms when talking ooc (spelling mistakes in common, abbreviations etc) c) almost identical patterns of activity (or lack thereof) d) similarities in the updates sent in e) anything else that we deem to be suspicious

Now, I know that these people probably KNOW who they are and they’ll deny, deny, deny until they’re blue in the face but when we have 5 or 6 people in agreement, then there’s definitely something there.

So, if you wanna keep the ruse going I suggest you pick up your activity... (not on all of your accounts, because that would be TOO obvious ;)), and try to not be so same-y in attitudes/defenses/the people you stick up for. 

I dunno how many times I’m gonna have to say this but YOU NEED TO FOLLOW EVERYBODY IN THE GROUP.

There’s no reason that anyone who’s been here for longer than three days should have less than 30 followers. You’re required to login at least once every three days, so why aren’t half of you following the new people?

It takes literally seconds to check the mod blog and follow the new people, especially when things aren’t even that busy anymore. There’s only been 2 follow posts in the last 8 days. Why aren’t you paying attention?

First: Mod Bey will be stepping down from the position of being a mod. 

Second: The Opening date will be Feb. 1. 3 P.M. Pst.

Okay, time for me to be asshole mod because I’m tired of how this place is right now.

It used to be fun. 

It used to be active. 

Now, we have the same people on the dash all the time and the same people - or, as many of us suspect - one or two people with many accounts, hogging roles that other people would actually be active with.

It’s the same people time and time again reaching 2 days of inactivity, then being on dash for 10 minutes and posting a few things so they don’t reach 3 days and get released, then disappearing again for another 2 days.

I’m gonna be clamping down and issuing warnings for role hogging soon, because it’s unfair to those people who a) are active and b) want to join as characters that are taken and rarely around.

Every time I bring this up I get hit with "most people are in DMs."

Well, if you just wanna hide in DMs and talk to the same two or three people all the time, then why are you in a group? If you don't want to be active and interact with other people in the group, then change to an indy account and have fun that way.

I'm not gonna be so lenient anymore because, again, it's unfair to other people for you to hog popular characters that you have no interest of actually participating in a group with.

When I have people messaging me, suspecting their ship partner of having multiple accounts and lying about it, and not being around for that reason, then it becomes a problem.

Why? Because this isn't the first time we've heard it.

As I've said, I'm fine with people having multiple accounts as long as they stay active with them. We have a limit of 4 accounts per person, but a lot of us suspect someone is breaking that rule. Can't prove it though, so... Whatever.

Posting 2 or 3 things every 3 days, or responding to a conversation that's been going on for 2 weeks with only 5 replies, is not activity. 

I'm sure people are gonna complain about this but, you know what? I don't care. If you're in a roleplay group, you should be active.

Last time I brought this up people said they couldn't be on often because they're in other groups, too. You know what my answer to that is?

Don't join more groups than you can keep up with.

If you don't wanna be an active member of this group, that's fine. There are many people who do and will gladly pick up characters that are being neglected.
