ive only played 999 but not vlr, so is the vlr's nonary game different from the first game?? are vlr spoilers going to appear during this rp or at least needed to be known so that you can understand whats going on?
Okay, I’m going to try and summarize everything you need to know about VLR for this game.
The primary difference between the Nonary Game from 999 and the one from VLR is the Ambidex Game. There’s a good description of that in the Rules page. Besides that, the rest of the game is simply a mutual killing game. After a murder and trial, the surviving students play a round of the Ambidex Game to change the number of points on their bracelets.
There was one point from VLR I wanted to use for a motive, but I might alter that slightly.
And as far as the overall plot is concerned, I might make a few alterations. There’s nothing in there that you would identify as a spoiler not having played the game, but… If you’re trying not to be spoiled for VLR, then let me know privately, okay? Thanks.
true friend, true, but say, what if the person who escapes is NOT the killer, and help a friend, or someone they are tired of seeing, or chooses to not use the points at ALL?
Hmm… any time you get to 12 BP, you can escape. It’s up to your character, honestly.
I’ll tackle all of these at once (except the last part). If we get in a situation where someone has 12 BP, I’ll ask them if they want to open the #9 door and escape. If they do, then we have a wrong end scenario, and we proceed as we would in the previous ask (AU timeline). Although, if the person in question isn’t a murderer, then they simply are convinced to stay.
And now in this situation and the one where they choose not to escape, the game goes on as normal. They keep their BP, and can escape at any time. This becomes quite an interesting motive for anyone paranoid that they’re going to escape in the middle of the night, don’t you think?
