hi! firstly, I wanted to say how much I appreciate ILW and all the work you've put into it because the game is just SO good. artwork, LIs, character customisation, EVERYTHING has been given such attention to detail which makes the game genuinely perfect. that being said, i haven't played in a while bc ive been keeping an eye out for the obsidian cut !! do you perhaps have a release date for us eager fans... 😘

To answer your question… I am working on the final edits but I’ve slowed down. I’m preparing to take the NCE (national counselor exam for counseling licensure in the US) and my sister who I write with is in town for a few months, so we’ve been working on editing one of our books while I’ve also been editing ILW, and going to school and working 😅
So got a lot on my plate, but still working on ILW and making consistent, if slower, progress

without too many spoilers, what has been your fav and least fav part of the rewrites
Oh, this is a fun question!
I really like some of the art stuff - all the new customization options, improved UI, and some cool animations! Apart from that, I like the new scenes that are added. We really fleshed out a lot of smaller characters who were one-dimensional and/or underdeveloped, which is fun. I also just find a lot of satisfaction in feeling like the logical flow of the story is improved. Oh, one last thing I really like is that there's a considerable amount more of inter-group interactions and bonding, both as a group, and in pairs.
My least fav part has probably been a lot of coding busywork. We improved a lot of the systems we had from legacy, including automation of a lot of processes, and to make the game consistent we've been going through and reworking the code to use the updated method... and that is a huge pain lol.
will the rewrites focus mostly on plot level stuff and adding the new features? will their be any rewrites involving the LIs?
It's basically anything that I wanted to edit to improve the story. A "director's cut" of sorts. Some of it is cutting down scenes that were too long and stream lining pacing, some of it is adding new scenes, some of it is editing current scenes, some is adjusting lore/plot points to improve clarity and reduce confusion, some of it are small consistency edits, some is just line level edits, some is adapting dialogue to be more in character... it's anything, really.
Each LI does have some additional content though, however their romance arcs and scenes are remaining mostly the same. Some of the bigger edits regarding LIs are probably with the personality variants, as I've really committed to doing a lot of changes based on personality.
One of the bigger changes regarding LIs is probably that Lincoln returns to join the group a bit earlier than in legacy, since he showed up in ch 2 and then didn't come back until the middle/end of ch 5, so he was a quite absent in early chapters.

Wish I could give a date. It turned out to be a lot more work than I thought 😂 I have completed my plans for the ch 22 rewrites and will need to implement those edits, and then we have ch 23, which I think will largely remain the same, but we are closing in on completing the edits. So hopefully we can release the game… soonish!

I just realised that I never actually got to finish ILW because my laptop broke back in the day and by the time i got another id totally forgotten about my choices addiction, but i’ve had notifications on for you page and seeing you talk about Obsidian just brought it all back. I used to love og choices so much and your game just improved every part of it, while it’s sad to see the slopfest they’ve become it’s so beautiful to know that there’s real artists, writers, developers and creatives out there like you guys still making things with heart and soul. I’m so excited to play obsidian version and actually finish it this time, thank you guys for all your hard work!
