America: First he would tell them how much it sucks that they are going through that. Then we would try to be the hero and save the day! It may or may not be effective, but he’ll try his best and probably rope other countries into helping as well (which will probably be more effective). His enthusiasm is oVER 9,000!!  “I’m the hero and you’ll be good to go in no time!”

Canada: He will try to take their mind off the situation by getting them out into a very relaxing nature setting, as long as they are healthy enough to do so. He’ll probably also want to send aid to his s/o’s citizens. “Its time for forest bathing, the fresh air will help you feel better.”

China: China has been through alot and really seen it all. He’ll reassure his s/o that they can pull through it and things will be good again someday. His nonchalance will help put them at ease. If they are in pain, he will also try to help them heal physically if he can. “Drink this tea while we wait this out. Time heals all wounds.”

England: England would rush to their side to see if there was anything he could do for them, but after that his efforts would lean strongly toward vengeance if there was anyone to blame. However, his vengeance may or may not be effective. For a natural disaster he will try getting aid to the nation, by sea or air. “Stiff upper lip, I’ll sort this out for you in no time!”

France: France would also rush to the side of his s/o right away, but his efforts would be mostly just around making them feel better. He probably won’t think there is much he can do as a nation to solve the problem, but he can support them physically and emotionally as they recover (after he finishes crying over them). “Let me take care of you...now, its time for your sponge bath.”

Russia: He would find what caused the problem, and if any person/any nation was to blame, he would be effective in making them reverse the situation, probably in a very intimidating way - this situation has potential to be a berserk button for him, so the guilty party better watch out. For a natural disaster, he will react similarly to China, encouraging his s/o to tough it out and wait for the society to heal itself. “Kolkolkol”

Oh boy, I don’t know if we have gotten requests for him before!  Let’s see here...

He seems very aloof at first, but his s/o will be considered to be trustworthy enough to be shown his true nature - a gentle soul with a strong code of honor for those close to him.

He is a nature-lover who enjoys time spent outside, so relaxing outdoor dates like picnics will be appreciated. He would also take his s/o on dates to places with people, but not people they have to interact with, more like places where you can be anonymous in a crowd.  In this case he’ll try to look super-impressive and cool and show off for his date (with mixed results?!)

He definitely likes his peace and quiet, so a loud or boisterous s/o would not be for him in the long term, although at first glance they might seem like a good match.  He needs someone he can relax around.

But only when no one else is looking!!

In public he is not very into overt affectionate displays, other than something like hand-holding or putting his arm around his s/o.

He likes to garden but isn’t a super good cook, so if his s/o is a good cook and can use the fruits and veggies he grows to make interesting dishes, he’d be really impressed and attracted to that!

His s/o doesn’t need to worry about him cheating on them - his initially-gruff personality will keep most people away, and he’s known for not being very welcoming.  So it would be hard for someone else to get close to him in a casual way.

However!  He IS very curious about others so he will eventually welcome his s/o’s friends into his inner circle.  Not as close as his s/o, but they can do group activities, group dates, double dates, etc together.

His huge, adorable, fluffy dog is a source of bonus cuddles for his s/o! (seriously, I want to cuddle it so much)

America: He’s usually such a positive thinker, but he will at first be really sad and tearful on their behalf. After that he’ll will be thinking of any and all positives that could be associated with this turn of events, and ways they can have fun together like this. He’ll probably try to convince his partner to let him carry them to and from their chair sometimes, it makes him feel strong and helpful (and he likes having them in his arms generally, so…).

Canada: Canada is quite loving and will have a strong tendency to dote on his partner. Maybe too much sometimes? But he loves making them feel cared for and secure. He will miss getting to take them out on hikes at wilderness trails, but he’ll try to find accessible nature trails for them to go on together so they can still enjoy outside time together. 

China: Being an old man with his share of aches and pains, China will surely empathize with his s/o. He won’t find this new situation too limiting regarding their activities as a couple, as he’s pretty easy-going and happy to let his s/o set the pace on their activities. If his partner is feeling down about it, he’ll make them forget their woes with an interesting new meal they can make and enjoy together. Also: buying his partner all the cute wheelchair accessories they could ever dream of? Check.

England: He’ll be very kind and patient as they learn to use the chair effectively when out and about. All his attention will be devoted to them during this time - really, you couldn’t ask for a better partner for this. He will also compose stern letters on his partner’s behalf to any facilities that fail to be accessible to wheelchair users! How dare they inconvenience his love!

France: France will always have a sympathetic shoulder to cry on/with for his s/o as they deal with the permanency of their situation. Also, if his partner has sore shoulders/back after a long day learning to use their chair, he will give them the BEST back rub they’ve ever had. Also, has his partner thought about ways to make their chair gorgeous as well as functional? Because HE has!

Russia: Russia has seen a lot of hardship, and he’ll be very sad for his partner. But he’s also a “make the most of it” kind of guy. He’ll a good partner for doing physical therapy exercises, keeping a cheerful and encouraging attitude during this time. Russia is also very strong, so if they need help moving around without the chair, he can certainly handle that. His partner can be confident that he’ll be there to catch them in his arms if they fall.

America: He’d exclaim loudly about the volume of blood, totally overreact, wrap them in his jacket, pick them up, and rush them to the ER by whatever means are fastest.  Snacks and hugs will be provided before, during, and after the wound is cared for.  And this is all regardless of the actual size of the injury...

Canada: He would rush over, distraught, and ask you to show him the wound.  Of course he would have a first aid kit on hand to get you all taken care of.  Then you can decide together if the wound needs to be looked at by a doctor or not - if so he will be happy to drive you there.

China: Despite his been-there-seen-that attitude to most things, I think the sight of his own s/o bleeding will be a bit much for him!  After he recovers, he will help administer first aid, and have someone in his family prescribe his s/o with some traditional medicines to lessen the pain and promote wound healing.

England: His first reaction is to assess the wound while downplaying its seriousness - this is to make his s/o feel less panicked.  If it isn’t serious, he’ll just wrap it up for them (if there is an excess of hand-caressing during this procedure, well, no one can be blamed for that).  If it IS serious, he’ll get them to A&E pronto while internally panicking but trying to be calm on the outside.

France: 1) The s/o is definitely getting taken to get actual medical attention (or if the doc makes house calls, all the better).  2) Dinner will be ordered in.  3) His s/o better get ready to be completely babied, coddled, and loved on!  He’s definitely going to want to kiss it “to make it better” and there might be additional kissing administered as well.  That finger wound will soon be forgotten...

Russia:  The sight of the blood will be very distressing to him, inducing a PTSD-like response due to reminding him of many bad things from his past.  He’ll try to stop the bleeding right away. Once the bleeding is under control, he probably won’t be thinking about fetching medical attention unless the finger is obviously severely damaged, as he is used to dealing with most things on his own. So he’ll help them bandage the wound as needed.

America: Oh my, he will want to turn the wedding and reception into a huge party!  Everyone he and his partner know will be invited, and there will be a huge buffet of food. He’ll probably hire the most popular singer, band, or DJ to play modern dance music. For the honeymoon he’ll want to go on a roadtrip across the USA! There’s so much to see and he does love to drive around and explore.

Canada:  He’d prefer a smaller more intimate ceremony so he can truly focus on his partner. Only the people most important to them will be there for the wedding itself. He might want to invite more people to the reception, but will they remember to come??? Let’s not think about how tragic that could be. For his honeymoon he will definitely take his partner’s preferences into consideration, but his own preference would be somewhere quiet and not too crowded - the actual location isn’t a big deal to him.

China: I feel like this could go one of two ways: full traditional, or modern and themed. Kind of leaning toward traditional, but if a Hello Kitty wedding is a possibility, well, it might be hard for him to resist. For a honeymoon, he would like to go somewhere that there are many interesting things to see. If they are going to travel, they should make the most of it!  Maybe an island nation, or a typical European honeymoon city like Paris or Venice.

England: Ah, he will go with a typical Church of England wedding. Nothing wrong with sticking with tradition! A moderate amount of guests, a predictable format to ensure guests know what is going on, and a pretty low-key reception. For the honeymoon, probably somewhere within his borders but not close to where he resides, OR on the Iberian peninsula (if he goes there he WILL get sunburnt but its worth it).

France: He will also want a traditional ceremony, but his will be much fancier than England’s. He will expect everyone to be at their best as far as dress and behavior goes, and they will be rewarded with a magnificently delicious meal afterwards and beautiful music for the dancing. For a honeymoon, he might try Seychelles, Luxembourg, or Monaco. But for him, the most important part of the honeymoon is NOT the destination, if you know what I mean.

France: Honestly France probably invented this kink (as well as many others). He’s always up for exploring every aspect of his and his partner’s body, and the heart is, after all, one of the most romantic parts of the body. However his partner wants to experience this, he is enthusiastically up for it. He probably loves whispering dirty talk with his partner outside the bedroom about what exactly they can do later and exactly how his heart will react to each action they take...

Prussia: He would be shy about this at first, he’s never heard of it before and he’s not very experienced generally, so his partner will have to explain exactly what they want. Once he and his partner know each other really well and are more intimate, he would get into it. He’ll let them listen and see just how amped up his heart rate can go as they are getting intimate. He likes hearing his partner enjoying the feel and sound of his heart, and praising him for how strong his heart beats for them! His heart is awesome after all!

Spain: Oh boy, Spain would LOVE this about his s/o! Especially during relaxing times. He likes to lie back in the warm Spanish afternoons while his s/o drapes themselves over his bare chest and rests their ear over his heart while they nap together. This is ideal siesta, what a happy boy. And if they want to increase his heart rate after the nap is done, well, he certainly won’t object. ;)

Denmark: He would like an s/o who will enjoy going out for a night on the town!  Things like hitting the bars, going to parties, staying out all hours of the night, etc. Personality-wise, someone who is fun-loving and carefree, though he might appreciate someone who is at least a bit more responsible than himself! They can help him keep from having too much fun and getting into trouble. As far as physical affection, he’s all for it, in public, in private, wherever. If his partner doesn’t want to do PDA, he’ll respect that, but it is definitely in his nature to do it so he would probably prefer a partner that is very free with affection.  For physical traits, I don’t think he would be picky at all.

Iceland: He would most get along with an s/o who, like himself, isn’t too loud and outgoing/extroverted. He has been alone for a long time and needs an s/o who is very devoted and loyal who will make him feel loved. He would like to be doted on by his loving partner, as long as no one else finds out, ha ha! As for physical appearance, I think he would like an s/o with an interesting look, or has their own unique personal style.

Finland: Finland is probably the one who is most flexible about his preferences for his s/o. He generally gets along with anyone as long as they aren’t overbearing or too controlling. His partner should be down for cuddling, though, this is a necessary trait. Also, must love dogs! And Metal bands. Ha ha. Hmm, someone who is an optimist and someone who isn’t a worrier would suit him well. Physically, like Denmark, he wouldn’t really mind what his partner looks like. He’s all about what is on the inside.

Norway: Norway puts on a serious face, but I think he appreciates a bit of mischief in his s/o. Can you imagine him with someone exactly like himself? It would be super boring. He needs a partner who is going to keep things interesting for him, so it would be good if they had a sense of humor and fun-loving personality, without being too overbearing about it. Physically I think he would prefer someone who is conventionally attractive and tidy.

Sweden: Do you want to get married and have a family and spend lots of time being domestic together? Sweden does. So he wants an s/o with the same desires for family life! Personality-wise, his s/o should be patient, doting, and not a sloppy person or someone who likes to tease people for fun. They should be fairly fun-loving while not being overly boisterous and loud. For physical appearance I think he would like someone who looks good with him in family photos and shows him a nice smile every day they are together. Oh yeah, and he prefers dudes.

Hmm, let’s see, they are both physically large nations, so they have that in common. Personality-wise they are both a bit immature but in different ways? Russia acts childlike but he is actually quite old and so has had a lot of experiences, while America often acts ridiculous and goofy, and hasn’t been around as long. So they might have communication or commitment issues to work through.

They have a recent history of being political adversaries. But if you put an average American and Russian in a room together I think they would get along pretty well. They could bond over their mutual love for sweets, or macho sports (american football vs ice hockey). I feel like enemies-to-lovers is a possibility, or even on-again-off-again type relationship? Or maybe a “they look like they hate each other in public, but are incredibly soft and low-key behind closed doors”

If you are looking for a human au, for some reason I see them as owners of rival companies - maybe aerospace or shipping companies?
