So like, you’re not awful if you still like this or want to explore the idea of a ‘healthy’ relationship between all 3, frankly the way I (personally) read Meat didn’t come off as aggressive as Candy and the pauses when Dave and Karkat talk about Jade read a lot more supportive to the idea (in the context of these two idiots can’t even admit they’re in love with each other, of course); maybe Candy was simply not a timeline that it works out because of all their specific flaws as people and the situations they found themselves in. Maybe it never works out, we only have 2 timelines at two sides of an extreme to base our reading of this relationship on. Tl;dr: You’re valid regardless of how you feel about the ship now, and at least we know Dave and Karkat love each other very much! At minimum they also view Jade as a very close friend who is very important to them. This blog will be around for people who do want to still at least explore the concept of all 3 of them together, in love; regardless of the specifics of the configuration.

An important message :D

Candy is not a healthy depiction of polyamorous love and like, I’m not going to make excuses for how that turned out. It was bad just like, straight up. That post was intended mostly to comfort people who may have felt hurt because they were either hoping for davejadekat specifically or just the idea of a healthy polyamorous relationship being depicted. It was not to say “wow, still #canon” or “you should ship it” or “don’t feel hurt after reading candy because it was actually good davejadekat, trust me”.
