Personally I agree--the way I see it, I feel he would absolutely be the type to be a lot more private about matters surrounding his love life, so of course this would fall under that too

Perhaps it takes him quite a bit of planning, I can see him as the type to be especially meticulous about how he wants the proposal to go--From the exact spot he wishes to propose to you (highkey can see a proposal in some location that allows for a breathtaking view of a starlit sky during nightfall, because of course), plans out the way he'd dress for such a special moment, perhaps a bit of planning out any potential decor (though I don't think it'd be something over the top, but y'know), etc... Probably has a whole speech planned out for it too (...likely had to make a few revisions so it wouldn't be... too lengthy... but to be fair, there just aren't enough things he can say about you, a celestial being who outshines practically all other cosmic wonders of the universe now, is there?)

At most, IF he were to have others present for the proposal, it'd only be a very select few number of people he's established enough trust in (he would... want to be certain that whomever he tells keeps this matter private), as those would be the ones he seeks out assistance from in this matter. But--even then, I'd see him as the type to prefer it be a one-on-one thing. Less pressure on his partner perhaps.

I do... Feel he probably would have discussed the matter with his partner prior to also, I can't see him just springing that question out of the blue without any sort of prior communication concerning marriage. Especially if he's very finicky about how he wants to set the proposal up, he wouldn't pop the question until he's sure his partner both wants this & is also ready to take that step... & that he himself is ready as well.

1. Auditions including lights up and private 1 on 1. I headcanon DJSS joined NSR through public audition while eVe joined NSR through private.

2. Nepotism the most controversial. I headcanon Yinu became a megastar because both of her parents were associated with NSR.

3. Invitations when a certain music genre gets popular NSR would observe this an see if there is a potential for any artists to join the record label and reach out to potential artist. I headcanon that's how Sayu and 1010 joined NSR

See, I actually have a similar headcanon that the lights-up audition isn’t like, the only way in which musicians can become part of NSR? Like, I figure that realistically NSR would have other routes through which someone can end up joining their ranks, though the lights-up audition is one that allows more of an opportunity for indie musicians to join their ranks compared to other routes (That said though, whether they're exactly fair in their judgment of who gets to join NSR is... Likely a subject of debate, since I imagine they would likely still be more inclined towards musicians who have amassed higher status...) The one on one private auditions are interesting though as a possibility, I kind of wonder if those would have stricter standards to meet in order to even land yourself a 1-on-1 audition? I'd imagine that likely would be the case but hm. Also! I've always held the headcanon that NSR absolutely does seek out musicians who are considered the best of the best within their respective genres- I figure that musicians who manage to amass a certain level of popularity, proving themselves to be at the top, typically end up on NSR's radar? To which they would keep tabs on said musicians & weigh in whether to extend out an invite to said musician, attempting to recruit them as part of their own record label basically? & It makes sense that they'd do this, because like, if you can get the best of the best musicians out there to join your record label, then that would only help improve their image in the industry--sending the message of their importance in the industry if they're able to somehow get all the top musicians to join their ranks so willingly

Nepotism absolutely would land them under a critical eye by the public though, no doubt--& I can also see that as a possibility as the case for how Yinu became part of NSR tbh

But I very much dig these hcs cause I've always thought a bit about how surely the lights-up audition isn't the only means by which NSR would acquire musicians, so yeah :0c

Hey, guys! We apologize for the silence in regards to this blog. Life has unfortunately taken a hold of us to the point where we haven't had time to really tend to the blog, that plus we're down a couple of mods so it's only the two of us. But we're planning to return to here to get things up and running again for a brand new start for 2024! I'd be grateful, if people were to submit new asks / requests. I think that some of his existentialism and inferiority issues stem from his mother…. Not all of it, because I think studying outer space enough to be a teacher may mess up your perception of humanity.

His mom didn’t help though. She was very much the type to pressure him to do great things, and she was even ashamed that his star matter needed to be held inside a helmet lest it sucks everything around him in.

He still visits her. It’s not always pleasant.

Ngl, I can kinda see him as having been put under extensive pressure from parents to have excelled in what he pursued—

I’ve always kinda hc’ed him being held to the expectation that he not only be held to this expectation of greatness, but almost this sort of… You have to be THE best, supersede everyone around you to really make an impact, to have any semblance of worth in the grander scheme of things… lest you harbor no significance—this sort of expecting him to be at the top… & thus simultaneously also frowning upon him for even the smallest of shortcomings, being subjected to an inordinate amount od pressure of having to “prove himself” to them through the aspirations he pursues, to not be deemed insignificant

Put under that pressure of needing to be at the top lest your shortcomings & mistakes be thrown in your face, to where it feels like they almost don’t have any faith in you—in addition to own hcs about him having been extensively met with ridicule & other such factors in much younger years?

Thus brings about my hcs on where his self aggrandizing behaviors have roots in—evidently they can’t even come close to your vision if they think of you as a failure. Besides they clearly expect you to excel, so evidently that means you must be destined for greatness, something they can’t even hope to comprehend. A means of disproving to himself what was instilled in him.

& like—due to that I’ve always felt that’s led to him viewing others as competition, the way they expected he outshine the rest & prove himself to be the best combined with… everything else, really. As a musician would very likely /especially/ view those with an even /remotely/ similar theme to him as competition to stomp out—please, these hopeless excuses of “artists” attempting to steal his shine? To outdo his clear superiority? He is the center of the cosmos, these other pathetic imitations of his greatness could never compare!

Tear down the stars around you to make room for your own, I figure, is how he ends up viewing others—but, coming back to the original topic…

I can absolutely hc that he would not. Be fond of any encounters with family because of this so I can see that finding displeasure in visiting her (I’ve had a hc where its either minimal contact, or straight up none at all after everything—but yeah)

Ok, no lie? I actually have this headcanon as well ! Like, I figure a lot of DJSS’s behaviors feel like him attempting to elevate his own importance to those in Vinyl City, trying to leave behind his own mark / legacy so that he doesn’t end up forgotten in the years to come, given what we can pick up of from his audio recordings. It’s pretty evident how he tries to make himself the most important in the district itself, with how much iconography you can find of him throughout Cast Tech (I mean there’s a giant statue even dedicated to himself along with every other screen that displays himself, all the banners of himself outside Club Planetarium, etc) as well as the fact that most of the district’s power (If I recall correctly from a stream) tended to be focused most on Club Planetarium itself & the visuals of DJ himself as opposed to... the district... & the fact that he cared the least about the blackouts that were discussed in one of the AMA streams too (& let’s not forget the fact that the district isn’t... in the best shape... there’s a dodo pop wrapper even that talks about there being trash left around so like-) Lowkey kinda hc that the imagery he set up of himself across the district was to attempt to further prove his legacy to himself, yet over time it gradually proved to bring about the opposite effect, serving kinda as a glaring reminder of what he hasn’t really achieved or feels he’s achieved—he feels like the lowest of the low, so as a result he holds up walls that are a means to lift himself up & escape those sentiments. Never really letting this side of him be shown to the world, never really wanting others to know how small he really feels on the inside
