honestly I think you’re right? Lance hasn’t flirted at all with Allura, for two seasons now, and it’s clear from the end of season 4 and a few moments in season 3 that he has a huge amount of respect for her. We haven’t seen Lance show any romantic interest in Allura in a long time.

also, the scene itself didn’t play out how it usually does when Lance gets jealous. we’ve seen Lance get jealous, he doesn’t just look irritated and get over it right away. he’s vocal about it, he asks questions, he tries to one up his rival.

Ok there are so many things wrong here I don’t even know where to start??? like do you even actually watch the show or did someone tell you the names of the characters and a vague outline of the plot and you just ran with it? Because you talk as if it’s the latter.

First of all; Shiro didn’t even know Haggar was altean, for all he knew she was Galra. Who, by the way enslaved and tortured him and forced to fight in gladiator style battles. Shiro has fucking PTSD because of the Galra. But, sure, there’s no reason to hate them.

Second; you’re comparing two unrelated things. Allura didn’t have “one dickhead” who was “mean” to her. She’s the survivor of a god damn genocide. A genocide of several planets. And it isn’t just Zarkon; it’s the Galra as a race. Sure, they may not all be inherently evil and believing such is a logical fallacy but it is not racism because that’s not how it works.

The Galra have enslaved entire solar systems, murdered entire races, and continue to oppress the entire system. Allura who as an Altean is inherently oppressed by the Galra cannot be racist. That’s like if me, a white person, called a person of color racist for pointing out that Manifest Destiny was a thing. Or that they don’t really trust white people right now given the current political climate (in the US at the very least) and me, being a rational human being wouldn’t cry that they’re racist because their safety is more important than my feelings! it just is!

You cannot be racist against your oppressors. You can be prejudiced yes, perhaps even blinded by this. But you are never racist because nothing you ever do will ever oppress them or other privileged people. Jokes about how white people can’t dance or w/e will never hurt white people as a race. Allura being suspicious of the Galra will never hurt the Galra as a race. Pull your head out of your ass holy fuck.

On the front of Ulaz; can you actually tell me one thing Allura said that was incorrect? As far as her reasoning goes, was any of it actually flawed? No. Ulaz snuck onto their ship and Attacked them, that was his introduction to the paladins. Could Shiro’s memory have been manipulated via his arm? absolutely this much is stated directly in the show. Would Zarkon have sacrificed one of his own men to trick the paladins? again, yes. Just because it turns out Ulaz was on their side doesn’t mean Allura was wrong to suspect him. They are in the middle of a fucking war and the Galra are the enemy. In what universe would Allura not be suspicious of an armed enemy soldier that snuck on her ship.

And even then, even with all of her suspicions being entirely logical Allura still gives the BoM a chance. She opens up her ship to them. Opens up herself to be attacked by fighting alongside them. And even sings their praises in season 4.

Allura isn’t like the other paladins, you cannot compare her loss to anyone else’s because no one has lost more than she has. And no one has the same pressures she has. Do you realize how ridiculous it is to ask Allura to trust the Galra after everything they’ve done? well, obviously not because you’re in our inbox spewing your “racism” bullshit everywhere lol.

On the front of Keith; to say Keith has done “nothing wrong” is a straight up lie. Allura has plenty of reasons to be angry with him. The fact that he lied, that he snuck around, that he put the whole team in danger with his lying and sneaking around (multiple times). The fact that he kept pressuring her to trust the BoM not because he truly thought they were trust worthy but because he was going through an identity crisis. The fact that he made Allura’s loss, Allura’s grief about his identity crisis.

And you know what? yes, Allura was wrong to ice him out rather than talking to him about it. Wrong, but not “racist”. And Allura, unlike Keith, apologized. She admitted she was wrong and she hasn’t treated him any differently than the rest of the paladins since. (and if you can still say Allura is mistreating Keith in any way after s4 ep1 when she showed nothing but concern and empathy while Keith acted completely selfishly because he didn’t want to deal with his responsibilities then idk what to tell you)

Lastly, Allura doesn’t “get away” with anything in this fucking hell fandom. Y’all will crucify her over the smallest perceived slight. Do you realize how many posts I see on a regular basis with your same exact argument in Allura’s fucking tags like it’s just an ok thing to do to shit all over a character and then tag it as that character (what do you even think is going to happen when y’all do that, that i’m gonna suddenly change my mind and hate Allura for no goddamn reason) And then I get it in asks, like this one. on my personal. on the blogs that I have set up specifically for Allura positivity. No one wants to hear your bullshit. Not in my house.

Allura is an incredibly kind, incredibly good person. She has lost Everything and yet she still prioritizes helping other people. She has every reason to seek revenge but she doesn’t. Her motivation is stopping the war and saving lives. When Allura faces off with Haggar she doesn’t say “for Altea” not even “for my father” she says “you will never destroy another innocent world”

He may not be a minor (we don’t know for sure which means you can’t really say for sure he isn’t) but he’s too young for Shiro. let’s look over the facts one more time, shall we?

1). Matt is wearing a student uniform before leaving for Kerberos, meaning he was a student. 

2) We know from the other characters (Keith, Hunk, and Lance who are all high school age. and Pidge who is confirmed to be in middle school when Matt leaves and is said to be too young to join the Garrison) that the Garrison is a high school. Putting him as a recent graduate at the oldest (which is 19, at the oldest. and even that’s a stretch)

3) before you argue “they wouldn’t put a minor in space” consider the following;

 a) Voltron takes place way in the future and we have no idea what laws may or may not be in effect

b) Matt’s father was in charge of the expedition, so if he took personal responsibility for Matt then the Garrison wouldn’t be liable and thus would have no reason to not let a fully trained cadet go on a mission. Which may I remind you was to collect data samples. not exactly dangerous. 

c) It’s a cartoon and real world logic and laws don’t really apply here. in cartoon land kids get to do stuff they’re too young to do all the time. Even Shiro is technically too young as the youngest astronaut to go into space is 32. Seven whole years older than Shiro.

4) Matt flirted with Allura who is a teen and is a minor (17 at the absolute oldest). Which makes the oldest Matt can be without being a disgusting predator is 19. Maybe 20 if your standards are a lot more lax than mine.

5) Even if we didn’t know for sure Allura is a minor (which we really do) the “Allura is 19″ argument would be very sketchy as is. because basically the argument is, if Allura is 19 (the oldest one can be while being a teen) then Matt can be 21-22 (the absolute oldest without making him creepy for hitting on Allura) which is the Bare Minimum of how old he would need to be to make shatt/maro ok is just,,,,assuming a lot. And it means the odds of it being ok to ship vs it being not ok are like 100 to 1.

6) When interacting with Shiro, Matt is clearly stilted and uncomfortable. He calls Shiro sir and doesn’t even initiate friendly contact let alone romantic contact. (again, compare this to his reaction to Allura; a girl he just met. Matt isn’t exactly shy, Shiro’s just his superior)
