Hey, I’m Jewish and I really appreciate what you’re trying to do. But for a moment, I’m putting myself in the shoes of a gentile fan artist. Let’s say I’m 15 years old, I’ve learned about nazi propaganda in school but that’s it. So if I get reblogged here, I’d probably either ignore it or get upset. Because you’d be telling me my art is problematic (and implying that I’m a bad person by extension) and not explaining why. And a lot of these artists you’re choosing to shame are drawing things that are not really related to Jewish stereotype anymore, like blue skin and pointy ears, which says “alien” to me more than anything??
Look, I grew up in a small town in the Bible Belt, my sister and I got bullied for being the only Jewish family in town. So I really get what you’re trying to do but the overall “public shaming/insulting” vibe just feels wrong to me. And choosing to bother these hobby fan artists, who are making content for their own enjoyment, it just doesn’t sit right. Is there a better way to achieve this goal? I’m open to talking with you, feel free to DM me. Thank you for your time. לך לשלום
bubby is a character who shares a character model with a jewish character! we feel uncomfortable with people giving this character dehumanizing features when in canon he’s never deemed inhuman and is based on a jewish man. again, we are not a monolith and jewish people can have different opinions. i respect you. and just because your art is problematic doesn’t mean you’re a bad person? you can fix it. it’s not like being reblogged here is Instant Cancellation. -mod crowbot
