Module #2 - Can I use mobile images and present them on a mobile device?
*The answer is yes. Yes, I can.
At the beginning of this class, I was very sure that it would be something I could learn a bit from. I thought I had a lot of experience in these areas. Turns out, I have little to no experience in the things we are learning (which could be a good thing!) I really have only ever used SnapChat or the pre-provided camera app on my iPhone. I downloaded the VSCO app and am working on figuring out the specifics, but so far I am loving it- and it’s FREE!
I have used some of the image-sharing websites like DeviantArt, Flikr, and Instagram but must confess that I haven’t really used them for sharing my own photography. I use them a lot just for looking at other people’s photography. Moving forward, I think I may use Instagram and Pinterest more often to post my own works.
Before this class, I had only ever used Prezi twice (once for a McCullough class). I had no idea that there were so many options out there. I have spent three years teaching using Google Slides (because it was convenient with our Chromebooks). Now that I have options, I definitely want to look into using Educreations and Haiku Deck in my professional life.
I feel that not only could I benefit from using these items in the educational setting but my students would benefit as well. It gives them variety and sense of “voice and choice” which is something we are striving for at TASD. That and it gives me another use for our iPads in every library. The students are more comfortable with technology than we realize and need opportunities to use it.
