Totally normal post from a totally normal guy.
I love mob eggs!! Please use these ideas, I would love it. So, this is just me yapping about mob behavior and eggs
Warden
Warden eggs look a lot like skulk, therefore they are often laid on skulk in order to camouflage the eggs. They’re mostly a translucent deep dark blue, glowing a vibrant glowing turquoise from inside. Their eggs are on the larger side, close to the size of a baseball when first laid. They have a very slow incubation period, growing larger over the course of a month. They’re very sensitive to light and will only hatch if left in complete darkness for the entirety of incubation. Clutch sizes range from 1-3 eggs and it isn’t unheard of for Warden’s to seek out players to lay eggs in.
Sniffer
Their eggs are huge, with the dual colored shells having rough ridges. The eggs are incredibly sturdy as well, it is almost impossible to break them open. Sniffers can be incredibly protective over their eggs as well, that does include protecting players if they’re carrying a sniffer egg. Sniffers will normally lay their eggs in a makeshift nest, but if they’ve been taken care of by a player, they will view them as a mate and will try to lay an egg in them. These eggs have a long incubation period as well, although it is generally shorter due to sniffers using their bodies to keep the egg warm, which can speed up incubation. This may also be a reason they view players as mates, as players can also achieve this.
Vexes
Vexes have small, translucent silvery blue eggs that are the size of marbles when first laid. These eggs are very sensitive to temperature, vexes will lay them in the darkest and coldest areas they can find, they do not stay around to protect their eggs. They lay very large clutches of eggs, almost 20 at once. Due to the fact they do not protect their eggs, it’s not uncommon for only a few eggs to survive. These eggs will hatch after only a few days, almost tripling in size as the vex grows. They are not known to view players as mates, due to vex eggs needing cold temperatures that players’ bodies can not provide.
Allays
Allays have similar eggs to Vexes, their eggs are the same size, but are a translucent bright blue that matches their normal colors. They are similarly temperature sensitive, but their eggs need warm temperatures to survive. They only lay clutches of about 15 eggs and will protect their eggs closely. They also don’t seem to view players as mates, but they will offer their eggs to trusted players to take care of. These eggs will also hatch within a few days and grow rapidly in size.
Spiders/Cave Spiders
They are to a certain extent similar to tarantulas. They will lay a large clump of small eggs, held together in a sticky silk clump. When laying in a human, this sticky silk will act as a plug on a player, meaning they are stuck with the eggs for a few days at least. Luckily, these eggs take longer to develop and hatch, closer to a week or two. The variation comes from environmental factors and differences in normal spiders and cave spiders. They don’t have many unique behaviors beyond this, but they will and can bite players, with their venom having a paralytic effect. Only then is there a chance they will attempt to mate, but more commonly they will simply try to attack and kill the player.
