Perennial (perennialdeath) have quite a lineup of upcoming releases:
Winston Hightower, "100 Acre Wood" is set for release on April 17. We covered an earlier release two years ago on Perennial.
Touch Girl Apple Blossom, "Graceful" is set for release on May 15, 2026. The first song, "The Springtime Reminds Me Of..." sounds like The Bats, and then the vocals remind me of any number of K Records bands from the 1990s. The band will be touring with Good Flying Birds.
But the post goes to Slippers (Los Angeles, California) and their June 2026 release, "Slippers 08". The band is the vehicle for the music of drummer/vocalist Madeline BB (Madeline Babuka Black). An earlier digital single is named, "Guess I Started A Band", an indie version of Art Brut's "Formed A Band". We previously covered their Lamo-O release in 2024, but on this album she collaborates with Mo Troper and Fred Thomas (mixing and mastering). The Bandcamp mentioned both The Beatles and Karen Carpenter when describing the record. "Wants For Everyone" is a fantastic pop song worthy of those two titanic names. I might throw in XTC for good measure.

“Memoria polaroid” – un blog alla radio S22E19
“Don’t know where we’re going or how long” cantano i Ducks Ltd nella canzone che apre la scaletta di questa sera, e in effetti sono parole che potremmo mettere all’inizio di ogni puntata del podcast di “Memoria polaroid – un blog alla radio”, la trasmissione in onda ogni settimana da Bologna, sulle frequenze di NEU Radio, a cura di Enzo Baruffaldi. Ma anche senza direzione e nessuna certezza,…

2 1/2 years ago we posted about the other half of this double album, "Triple Fantasy". I'm here to finally report that Joey Joesph's "Taking It Easy" is better than "Triple Fantasy". Yes, they are technically the same physical release, but they were released about a month apart on Bandcamp. And I think they sound different. Read what I wrote about "Triple Fantasy":
Combine the sound and attitude of Billy Tibbals, The Lemon Twigs, David Bowie and Laurie Shaw. This is glam rock/pop at its finest. [note: Laurie Shaw has a new LP available, "Felted Fruit VI")
"Taking It Easy" makes me think of Mo Troper and Dick Stusso. Sure, I can still imagine both Laurie Shaw and the D'Addario brothers (The Lemon Twigs) producing something akin to this, but that's about it for the previous comps.
This double LP and most of Joey Joesph's physical catalogue is released by The Eyebrow Palace (both label and Joey Joesph are based in Cincinnati, Ohio).

Get on it. If you like The Lemon Twigs (New York) and you're a "collector", then get on it. Captured Tracks has a pre-order up for the new album from the D'Addario brothers (their first in two years), and the deluxe edition contains an outtakes cassette and a signed print. Sign me up.
There is only one song currently streaming from "Look For Your Mind!", a 2 minute gem named "I Just Can't Get Over Losing You". And while this definitely retains their 1960s power pop/psych influence, there is something different from previous releases. No worries, the jangle, harmonies and melodies are all here, but this isn't a straight copy of their previous releases. I pretty much own all of their catalogue and each release has its own sound, and I expect nothing different from the new album, due in early May. If you go to their webpage, you can see their upcoming tour dates.
"Look For Your Mind!" reminds me of Mo Troper and any number of current bands mining the power pop trend. Earlier this year we posted about the Richmond, California band Suver, whose song "Blanket" really reminded me of The Lemon Twigs. Suver's full album is out now. Also don't forget that Lemon Twigs bassist Danny Ayala recently released his solo album
11/1/25.
Mo Troper 7"? Yes, please.
If you know Mo Troper (Portland, Oregon), then you know you're getting top notch power pop. This song has a definite Beatlesque feel to it. Brendan Ramirez (Bory - covered this band on 12/30/23) plays on this and shares vocals.
There is only one song streaming, but there is another song - "When She Says My Name." Only 100 copies of this were made. Mixed and mastered by Jack Shirley.

I can't really imagine how Sukpatch "Lite Hits" was welcomed in the early 1990s. Really, this sounds like an LP that arrived about 30 years too early. Today, this would fit nicely next to releases from either Mo Troper (listen to those vocals) or Cindy Lee. Some of the beats make me think of The Go! Team.
According to the Bandcamp page, Sukpatch (Minneapolis) and bands like The Ah Club and Land of the Loops were almost interchangeable. Originally released as a cassette on Slabco, this is being released on vinyl by Concentric Circles (Portland) who previously brought us Sternpost and Moonlove.
