Colour-sense a step further
In these times of heated nonsense we should remain focused on what really matters. Back to the point, I have been a great fan of Pit Hartling's Colour-Sense, which you can find in Card Fictions. This effect uses a clever memorisation technique to replace what normally is achieved with a stacked deck and sleight of hand. Colour-sense allows you to "feel" the colours of 12 cards through the table, and a full card (suit and value) for the climax. After spending some time with that effect, I decided to take it an step further. This will make little sense if you are not familiar with "colour sense" and mnemonic techniques. Basically, I am now able to memorise the colours of the full dek in the same time by using groups of four cards (instead of groups of three) and the person/object/action-memory palace method. If you are interested in hearing more about this, please let me know. The moral of the story is: work on what you know to keep on improving it. "Quality is never an accident. It is always the result of an intelligent effort" John Ruskin.
