In fact, this is what makes gaming really interesting. Especially when games do not allow a savegame history, meaning, there's only one savegame, for your playthrough (like in the old X-COM, the new XCOM (on ironman mode), FTL and so on.) You have to face the conesequences, and when things go wrong, you have to find a solution. Regarding MMOPGs you have a nice example for what would have happend, when one dumb soldier would have accidentially pressed the wrong button during cold war...
