Mmapula - Busta 929, Mzu M - 2021
Listen to Mmapula on TIDAL
A while back I had a job where I had to drive. A lot. Every shift. And after getting bored of my own music for so long, I went to the radio just to see what was happening there. And apparently it was this. African music hour or something. This tune is just relaxation and summer evening vibes all in one. Sitting on the beach, drink in hand, children running around and having fun. I have no idea what it is being said or what the song is about but the vibes. The chill factor. The absolutely ridiculously phat bass coming in cause why not? Just add a brief rearrangement of the guts to the chill factor.
Sitting in the dark in one of the coldest Aprils I can recall, being reminded of what summer is and why we enjoy it so much can’t be faulted. Today is also the first day in the new house, so adjustments are being made to the furniture as we settle down in Substack. No soul searching through the darkest of music to touch on emotions buried under years of neglect. Just peace. Serenity. The sounds of children having fun. Life feels good.
