Taking the first opportunity to forge his own path to a throne with a new meaning, he must face the trials and tribulations that come with going against the grain of the life he's known. Cardinal "Carrie" Rime is an abomination of scientific hubris. A drug addict, an alcoholic, a ravenous, cybernetically enhanced, and bloodthirsty cannibal. Searching for a purpose, she soon finds herself in the sights of a stallion vying for power, and the pressure of her complicated history.
