so, uh, is it safe to say prince of cats isn't gonna get updated? (not trying to pressure you, just curious about if I should re-read any time soon, it's very chill if it's just not your vibe anymore)
i wish i could say yes but honestly... probably not
the thing about prince of cats is that i outlined it in its entirety before season two was even ANNOUNCED, and the reveal that gabriel is hawk moth actually completely ruins a bunch of the major plot in the chapters that didn't get written
while i was always convinced gabriel and hawk moth were one in the same, the ability to choose for fics whether i wanted them to be or not provided me with a lot more flexibility in my plots
i think making the story work with gabriel as hawk moth would be INCREDIBLY awkward and stilted and not something i'd be happy with, but i also truly don't want to go down a route where i just say "this is an au hawk moth is just some other dude" because the fact that gabriel IS hawk moth has. you know. a massive effect on how we look at his and adrien's relationship
which stinks because it IS my vibe, but not like this. i've actually kind of been thinking of removing it from ao3 entirely and reworking it as an original piece because i am happy with it as cheesy as it is, but it just doesn't really work for ml anymore
