Rayearth was the very first anime what inspired me to draw seriously: the art, music, fashion and character development were so unique. I fall in love with clamp.

I'm just gonna put this here.
How's this. READ CLAMP! They're a group of women who have created by far the best f-ing series in the world! And guess what ALL THEIR LEADS ARE FEMALE. And secondly many of their male chars get into relationships and beautiful ones at that. Plus many manga/anime/light novels in Japan are made by women. Some have male leads and some have female. Like for example Sailor Moon and FMA. Oh and two men created the awesome female centered series Totally Spies while another two made Kim Possible.
Read CLAMP. Magic Knight Rayearth and CCS were good. Chobits was terrible and their work is very, very hit and miss. X/1999 for example is another piece of trash sold by pretty, pretty pictures. Please don't assume I'm not aware of women writers in anime/manga OR mainstream comics.
Yes, men did Totally Spies (and that's also not American, IIRC) and Kim Possible. But this is what? Two shows out of thousands? That's not the best track record for tv or for men who write. Also, while fun and featuring women who were feminine and kick ass TS had its problems. Kim Possible isn't a fandom I'm apart of so I won't make statements on that one.
Yes, I just admitted to being a fan of Totally Spies. Take that as you will.
