Raiden knew this day would come, and yet he did nothing to stop it. His voice played in Kung Lao's head on repeat, like a record stuck in time, and though before he questioned the subtle crack in his words, he had finally found his answer, and it was just the terrible truth.
He felt it, the freezing rain, seep through his clothes and onto his back, and it seemed to chill him to the bone, and he felt himself shake, but he kept on- on his hands and knees, slowly crawling toward Raiden who lay still in the dirt. Was it delusion that made Lao think that Raiden was still alive? His body was frozen like a staute and probably cold like one, too, but Lao kept on- because of course, the great Kung Lao could breathe him back to life, of course, this had to be a cruel game- but no, it was just the terrible truth he had happened upon.
First, Lao took Raiden's cold hand, then brought himself next to him, and looked down at him. He searched his face for any movement, even the most subtle. He brought his other hand over Raiden's cheek, and the man's eyes fluttered open. Raiden's gaze immediately met Lao's.
"You have to leave," said Raiden, and he coughed, he choked.
Lao whispered, "what?"
"You..."
Raiden's words were just a breath. No louder than the wind, but drowned out by the pitter-patter of the rain.
He stared up at Lao, dazed, and his lips quivered slightly.
"You have to live," he said.
And for some reason, Lao shook his head. At first, as just a response, but then he did it again, on purpose this time, as devastation set in- and Raiden could see it on his face.
"No," Lao said, "No, Raiden-"
Raiden reached for Lao's shirt, reached to just hold him again, but then he let out another breath and he was gone. His arm fell back and he lay unmoving again.
"Raiden," Lao whispered. He held his face in his hands, rubbing his cheeks. Then he shook him by the shoulders.
"Raiden!"
He shook him again, but rougher. "Raiden, come on-"
Tears stung his eyes and his chest felt heavy, but no, this couldn't be it, this couldn't be the truth, Raiden had to just be playing some game, right?
"Raiden, wake up. Come on."
Lao realized he was holding his breath and involuntarily heaved- then let out a sound that was a cross between a groan and a cry, trying not to let those tears fall. He sounded angry for a few seconds until he just broke down and started screaming.
He started screaming. For someone, anyone. For Raiden. For Lord Liu Kang. For Johnny. For Kenshi. Oh, but what would they do? Kung Lao couldn't think straight, instead he wanted to turn back the clock. Why did it have to be Raiden? Why did Raiden jump in front of him in the first place? Why couldn't Raiden just let Kung Lao die?
He kicked and screamed and sobbed like a child until his throat was raw and sore. Slowly, he peered up at the dark sky, pure tragedy on his wet face.
Raiden's last words, his last I love you, replayed over and over and over...
At the end, he couldn't breathe, but he accepted the terrible truth.
yes this was inspired by final fantasy vii crisis core. muwahaha.

Fanfic Name: Lover, You Should’ve Come Over
Chapter Title (4): The Intimacy of Washing Blood Away
Rating: General Audiences
Archive Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Fandom: Mortal Kombat (Video Games)
Relationship: Johnny Cage/Takahashi Kenshi
Fanfic Summary: Kenshi is absolutely, horrifically - if you ask him anyway - in love with Johnny Cage. He feels it in every tendon, muscle and bone in his body and cells, with his head spinning on its axis with every touch of Johnny’s skin and every note of his voice. It’s indescribable, and probably something old poets would have an easier time describing.
He now has to deal with that, and all the implications of being in love with someone you rarely see. Literally, and metaphorically.
(Or, Kenshi just trying to hold himself back from telling Johnny he’s horrendously in love with him over the span of a few months, which he’s failing at. Its a miracle he’s lasted this long)
Chapter Summary: Johnny’s got a bit of a protective streak, which ends up with him receiving a busted nose and Kenshi cleaning the blood off his face in the back of Madam Bo’s.
It shouldn’t feel as intimate as it does, but Kenshi’s never really been able to hold himself together around Johnny.

Imma be clear here, I am NOT glorifying what's in the fic, it's based on an pretty old rp I did with a friend that I remembered when I was talking with another friend which made me want to write it.
since it was so far back, I had to change a few things cus I forgot how the whole rp went but it was pretty much this.

I hope it's not too bad for my first time writing again in years- enjoy I guess-
Steven quite literally runs into the blond man at the market, sending his groceries scattering all over the linoleum. "Oh, I'm terribly sorry!" he says sheepishly, helping the man to his feet.
"It's all good," the man says with a laugh, "Wasn't looking where I was going."
"No, really, it's all my fault; I'm such a klutz," Steven babbles. "Here we are," he mutters, straightening the man's shirt (Marc snorts at the words emblazoned on the front, "More Espresso Less Depresso") and dusting off his shoulders. "Right as rain, there we go.
"Ask him where he got the shirt," Jake prods at him.
"No, that would be rude!" Steven shakes his head. "Sorry, ah, what's your name?" he asks. The man is giving him a look he's quite familiar with, one that says, You're a little bit mad, aren't you? Jake's hackles are raised, preparing for judgement or derision.
But then the man smiles and says, "I'm Clint."
"Steven, with a V," Steven replies, helping him gather up his groceries. They mostly consist of frozen dinners and cans of soda, not that any of them are judging. Marc's eaten his fair share of grab and go dinners while working as a mercenary and Khonshu's avatar and Jake's work as a cabbie doesn't exactly lend itself to a healthy diet.

I just wanted to say that I loved your fic et voilá!
For ao3 wrapped: (20)Which work of yours have you reread the most?
AHH thank you so much💜💜💜
I think this year, it was probably sin descanso! It normally takes me a very long time to be able to read something of mine and not criticize it to pieces, but with that fic, I've found I can enjoy it for what it is without picking apart its flaws. Plus, it also put me in the right headspace for writing for a while which was nice. Even though I haven't written a word in quite some time, the sequel I have started for that fic still excites me too.
Hmm this is a fun question bc the quickest sit-down writings always come out different for me. I think this year, back in May I wrote an Outer Banks fic for Mother's Day called Mother's Day Cards, and I don't think it took me any longer than 2 days. It came out as more of a character study style work that when I read it now, I'm still kinda fond of it :)
11. What work took you the longest to write?
Oof I mean. Excluding the works that are still in progress, I'm gonna go with one of my Moon Knight fics, called et voilà, which is finished and posted, centered around Marc and Layla. I think this one took me around 6 months to finish, from a combination of taking long breaks and rewriting it over and over again. It's definitely one of my favorites though.
so fun fact i'm able to blorboify ANY song and this specifically happened when my coworker had a pop hits station on and Save Your Tears by The Weeknd played (multiple times actually). And my brain, like with every song these days, blorboed haaaard, and went MARCLAYLA MARCLAYLA MARCLAYLA.
So. In simple terms. After Marc has left Layla, for whatever reason, he's in a crowded area one night. Maybe it's Steven who's out, like he is sometimes to sit and talk to Crawley. But he's strayed a bit further than normal to try some new food joint, towards the direction of Marc and Layla's old place. And there she is. She's far away, down the street, grabbing a bite to eat herself maybe, maybe going to meet with someone, perhaps a certain pilot of supposed french nationality, at a pub.
And Marc, having been deep within, is immediately forward and alert at the sight of her. It's happened once or twice before, fear getting the better of him seeing a woman at a distance with hair as distinctive as Layla's, but this time, this time it is her. And he takes the front away so quickly and harshly that he immediately feels the start of a headache.
Logically, he knows he should turn around and haul ass far away the second he sees her. But when has he ever been any good at keeping away from Layla when he knows he should? He can't help himself but to watch her for a stolen minute or two.
And he gets closer, against every piece of his better judgement (or rather, with his better judgement winning for a brief moment), and he catches the sadness in her eyes. And when Frenchie meets her and talks with her about him, eventually? He sees tears in them.
