who lives, who dies, who tells your story?
How do I want to be remembered?
I’ve actually thought about this a lot. Possibly a lot more than is healthy. I want to be remembered as someone who helped others. I want people to remember my kindness.
More than that, I want people to remember little things–a stupid joke, that one time at X place, those nights where we stayed up till 3 AM, 4 AM, 5 AM, 6 AM, even 7 AM and we didn’t even notice because we were having such a good time.
I want people to remember me, not a cardboard version of me. I couldn’t care less if I was in the history books, or if I changed the world in some huge way. I want to be remembered as someone who cared about people. I want to be remembered as me. Not as something I’ve done, but for who I am.
As you sit at your computer, answering asks and blogging, you hear a light rapping at your window. As you stretch and go investigate you find a small owl looking at you intently. Opening the window you let it hop in for a brief moment, taking the letter and small box it was carrying. The little owl flew off as soon as you do so. The letter read "I hope you will feel better soon, here is a little something to cheer you up." In the box you find some sweets and a notebook filled with lifting words.
