mitsuba would be a prince who is extremely hard to please and annoys all of the castle’s staff.

kou would be an honourable knight who comes from a long line of knights who taught in extremely famous wars and such.

kou’s brother is a knight too, but he isn’t a fan of mitsuba or anyone who’s royal.

hanako would be a prince from another kingdom who usually rocks up uninvited to get away from his own boring kingdown

nene would be a gardener for the castle and regularly hangs out with kou and hanako

the king and queen are yako (human version obvi) and tsuchigomori

kou exclusively serves mitsuba after he saved him from an assassin breaking into the young prince’s room one night

mitsuba and kou genuinely became good friends, but mitsuba doesn’t admit it and says that he’s just a useless knight

hanako annoys kou by sneaking up behind him and doing a bad impression of mitsuba saying ‘oh you idiot, thank you for saving me! now give me, mitsuba, a big fat kiss because everybody knows that we’re deeply in love’

kou is obviously super flustered by this

mitsuba has taken photos of kou when he’s training, and looks at them frequently

kou found the photos once and tried talking to mitsuba about them, but all he got was ‘it was just practicing angles! oh my god, shut up kou, you don’t know anything you ugly toad! pervert molester, why would i ever like you? you’re so gross, i can’t believe you’d even think that i’d take those photos for such unholy acts! you’re disgusting!’

kou requests nene to bring flowers to mitsuba’s door every week, a different bouquet representing things that happened and how he feels towards him during that week

most of the time it’s a pink colour scheme with a lot of roses

mitsuba is too lazy to learn what flowers mean so he just thinks that kou wants to make him sick so that he can take advantage of him

the first time they kissed was when mitsuba and kou were stargazing in the balcony of mitsuba’s room. the two suddenly looked at each other and then they were like 😳

mitsuba: don’t take it personally or whatever but ily

kou: well ily2 so i mean

mitsuba: nice

kou: it would be so bonkers if we kissed rn lol

kou came over to teru that very night, beaming about how cute mitsuba is and teru just day through it, dying inside as the younger boy talked for hours about how soft his lips were

teru slowly stopped hating royalty as time went on, but he was still very protective over kou

nene boasted about growing the flowers for their wedding and them mitsuba was like ‘well that ain’t a bad idea, radish legs’ and then he was like ‘mom, dad, i’m marrying kou’

his parents didn’t care, they just told him that he wasn’t old enough to get married and he was like

‘oh yeah i forgot’
