5) Ginny Weasley (Harry Potter) in the movies! she probably is my favourite character in the books but the movies butchered her personality

now, i feel like i have to address why 4 of the 5 worst characters in tv/ movies (i am purposely excluding books) are female. the because the idea of that character is inherently bad. it’s how the screenwriters chose to write these women. they are all horrendously over-written unsympathetic mary-sue type characters who excel in their field of expertise without real struggles, without real training. neither of them earned their ‘big moments’ where the music swells, the protagonist overcomes their biggest weakness and saves the day. they have no real personality. as for Captain Marvel and Arya Stark, the source material treats them so sooo much better - they have actual coherent personalities with strengths and weaknesses and personal issues they have to work through. they feel real. (i was so close to including movie Hermione on this list, because all of what i said about the other four also applies to her, but snape is just worse (not written, the character is just the worst))
