[Misty]

Misty went to Dylan’s house and knocked on the door. “Hey Dylan it’s me. Are you home?”

[Dylan]

Dylan had just finished putting Sophie down for her nap when he heard someone at the door. Walking down, he went and opened it. “Oh hey Misty, what brings you here?” 

[Misty]

“Hi, I just want to talk about Hope and Ken. I know you know this but Hope doesn’t really plan on dying at anytime so if you could tell Ken to not kiss her without her permission that would be great.”

[Dylan]

“Ken did what?” He asks not sure if he was hearing things correctly. “Why would Ken kiss her without permission? He knows she is married...with kids.” Dylan couldn’t help but put his thumb and forefinger to the bridge of his nose. “Yeah I will talk to him. I thought he moved past this whole obsession with Hope at least, I was hoping he would.” He sighed. “Would you like to come in for a bit? I just got Sophie down for a nap.” 

[Misty]

“No I mean he hasn’t but Hope is concerned about it and I mean she’s my daughter so I’m concerned.” She clarifies. “Yeah sure.” She said moving past him and heading inside.

[Dylan]

Dylan moved so Misty could come inside. “That makes sense. I will make sure to talk to him about it then for sure. He has very strong feelings which is something he has gotten from me.” He sighed. “Would you like anything to drink?” 

[Misty]

“I mean that’s fine Dylan but I have to make sure my daughter is safe. I don’t mind him having crush, her personal life is hers. But when it comes to her safety that is when I have to be involved and I hope you aren’t supporting that type of behavior.” She said sitting down. “Sure.”

[Dylan]

Dylan whipped up some martini’s for them both. “I am not supporting his behavior about going after someone who is happily taken with a family. I have learned from that and I don’t think it would be in his best interest, but you know how children are. If you tell them one thing, they will want to go and do another.” He sighed before handing her the drink. 

[Misty]

“Thank you, but I just... I don’t know Hope is married. Her choice is already made. He should respect that Dylan.”

[Dylan]

“He should. I agree with you. But they do have a past together and sometimes its easier for some people to get over it. Even if it didn’t mean that much to Hope, she did take his virginity and that is a big deal to him. It meant something to him and if it didn’t mean something to her, she shouldn’t have taken it because then that would just give him the wrong idea. How do I tell him not to do something if in his mind, she wants him but just decided she can’t pursue it anymore because she settled for Zach because of the baby? I mean try to put yourself in his shoes for a second. He thinks that she still loves him because she told him she does but she can’t because she is with Zach, do you know how confusing that would be to someone? Telling them you love them but you can’t be with them because you have a family and are married to someone else?” 

[Misty]

“Hope never said it didn’t mean anything to her. As I remember Ken stopped fighting for her. He wanted something she couldn’t give and then just disappeared on her. How is that her fault? Zach fought for Hope. He even went against me to be with her. He loves my daughter and would tell anyone who asked him that. He left behind everything he knows for her. What has Ken done for Hope? He wants someone so he isn’t alone. That’s not what Hope wants.”

[Dylan]

“From what I heard that is what Ken told me. I don’t know if it is true or not but that is just what I heard. He will figure out what she wants and if she wants him to fight for her he will fight for her and he won’t stop until she is his. So by her telling him that he stopped fighting for her and that’s why she doesn’t want him will only motivate him to fight for her and try to unknowingly destroy everything she has right now. And with Zach taking over Mark’s job, and what happened when Hope felt alone, I just don’t want to see him tear a family apart Misty. But he is too blinded by the fact that Hope said he didn’t fight for her to even see that, he just views it as her telling him to fight for her and do anything he can to prove it even if that means destroying her and everything she loves.” 

[Misty]

“Okay well that’s not what she meant. It’s like you are telling to give them closure. I said it to Finn, I didn’t mean for him to keep fighting it just so he knew.” She told Dylan. “Why do I feel like you think what Ken is doing is right?”

[Dylan]

“Some people don’t see it that way Misty. What you might perceive as being closure might not be to someone else. If Hope is telling him that he needed to fight for her and he wants to prove himself to her, he will take that advice and fight for her. If you told me you loved me, that wouldn’t give me closure that would make me want to fight for you. You telling Finn you loved him didn’t give him closure it made him fight for you. You telling Noah you loved him didn’t give him closure it made him fight for you. Are you seeing a pattern here? If you want someone to move on you tell them you don’t love them so they stop thinking if they were to change you would want them back magically. Ken is a child, he doesn’t understand closure, he thinks that Hope wants him to fight her for since he didn’t in the past.” 

[Misty]

“No what I’m seeing is guys that don’t know when no means no. I never once told Noah I loved him so I don’t know where you are getting that information. When you say no, there doesn’t need to be a long list of why you say no. And it’s your job to tell him that or to teach him to respect that. And is your judgment coming from the fact that you think I’m leading you on? Cause it seems real personal for you.”

[Dylan]

“You aren’t telling them no, you are telling them you still have feelings and you still love them. As long as someone knows you love them and that they wished you had done something differently, if they realized that they fucked up they will do whatever it is to fix that. They will change themselves or even start trying harder and fighting for them if they think it will make them love them again. And no it’s not, why would you think that? I gave up on us being a thing a long time ago. You will always go back to Nibs and that is fine. You made your choice.” 

[Misty]

“Maybe if you stopped and realized that you offer that person nothing. What does Ken offer Hope? Hm? He doesn’t like who she is, he doesn’t want kids right now, and he isn’t ready for love. Why the fuck would she ever consider leaving someone who loves her for him? You are married, you cheated on Sam literally every chance you had, and said you loved him but you loved me. Why would I leave Nibs for you? So that you could cheat on me when I broke your heart? No. I am not doing that to myself.”

[Dylan]

“Because he is willing to change himself for her. He doesn’t mind having step kids and he is ready to show her what it is like to love someone. We both know those circumstances were..well not the best. I did love him, I loved him with everything in my being but he didn’t want me. He chose someone else. I loved him a different way than I loved you. I would never cheat on you if you broke my heart. I already know about you and Nibs and if you both wanted to continue seeing each other, I wouldn’t take it personally. I love you for who you are, I wouldn’t want you to change all that for me. With Sam, I thought I was in love with him but then when I found out who he truly was...I just...Sam and I...our love and our relationship was toxic. I did everything for him and he didn’t want me. It took me months to not blame myself for what happened. I can’t make him love me and I can’t make him change who he is. I accepted that and that was why we got divorced in the first place.” 

“We are trying to be civil with one another, trying to mend broken bridges but we aren’t together. I don’t have to pretend when I am around you Misty and you never have to pretend when you are around me. You are honest with me and you don’t constantly lie to me. You were there for me a lot during my time with Sam and I have been there for you with Nibs. I am not going to act like I wasn’t in control of my actions because I was fully in control but I just didn’t care. You are the only one that made me want to care.” He speaks as his eyes flashed different colors before setting on his normal chocolate ones. 

[Misty]

“Oh jeez Dylan stop. Why do you do this? None of that is true. You had another child with him. You didn’t leave him until after your emotions started coming back. Any chance you heard he was around you jumped at the chance to see him and then turned to me when he left you. That is not love. What you feel for me is not love. What Ken feels for Hope is not love. So just...just stop okay. Because you can not sit here and say that your daughter upstairs wasn’t made from love.”

[Dylan]

“Sam conceived her during a heat not from making love. Honestly I didn’t think we were going to have another child. He disappeared and all of a sudden we had a baby girl. He didn’t need me Misty. My entire identity was Sam just as yours is with Nibs. That doesn’t mean what we had wasn’t real. We went on a date, I thought you enjoyed yourself. Whenever you have a rough time with Nibs you usually come to me. Why is that?” He asks. 

[Misty] 

“I like fucking you Dylan. That’s it. I don’t trust you to love me the way I need. I come to you when I just want to forget. You had emotions off for so long and I think you just liked the attention and the fact you didn’t have to feel. I am a very emotional person so if you can’t even handle yourself, how are you going to handle me? I enjoyed our date. It was fun. But it was because Sam wasn’t around. When he was we never talked.”

[Dylan]

“That doesn’t mean I am not going to try to prove myself and earn your trust. I told you that after everything I was going to do whatever I could to earn your trust back. I want to feel again. You are the only person that has been able to make me feel. Even Sam couldn’t do that. I don’t know why. I feel different when I am with you whether or not you think it is because of Sam that is your opinion but I know what I feel Misty. We did talk when he was around, I came and confessed to you when he was around and you told me to stop pursuing you and to try again with Sam so that is what I did but then things haven’t worked out. So what else do you want me to do Misty?” 

[Misty]

“Nothing Dylan. Do what you want.” She said placing the drink on the table. “I have to go. Just talk to Ken okay.” She said standing up. 

[Dylan]

“If I did what I wanted it would kill you and I don’t want that. Even if you wanted me, you wouldn’t be able to have me because of your bond with Nibs. Wait.” He gets up and takes her arm before she could leave and pulled her closer to him. Dylan found himself staring at her lips before his eyes reconnected with hers. “I will talk to him okay but I can’t promise you anything.” He explains as there are mere inches between them both. He wants to kiss her. 

[Misty]

Misty felt him grabbing her arm and stopping her as he pulled her closer to him. She felt how close they were and saw his eyes falling to her lips. She bit her lip as she knew what he was thinking. Her heart started beating faster as she noticed the mere inches apart they were. Dylan had always confused her. But she couldn’t hide how much she just wanted him to kiss her. “Are you going to let me go?”

[Dylan]

"I...I don't want to. For the first time in my life I don't want to." He explains softly as his eyes were a lighter shade of brown. Dylan wasn't sure what was going to happen all he knew was that his heart was beating out of his chest. He wanted her to want him. 

[Misty]

“Dylan you know you can’t...your emotions are on. It’s not like before.” She told him not pulling away as she let her eyes fall to his lips.

[Dylan]

Dylan snapped his fingers and one of the bracelets appeared around his wrist which would allow him to hold onto the break of the bonds and then dispose of it properly in dark hallows as the bracelet channeled the dark energy he would have had in his body. "I can take care of that. You have nothing to worry about. I wouldn't let anything hurt you." He explains before kissing her gently and passionately. Finally being able to feel his emotions, he deepened the kiss. 

[Misty]

Misty watched the bracelet appear on his wrist and she automatically knew what it was for. Hearing his words, she knew Dylan was telling the truth. Even though she couldn’t trust him on everything, something told her he was telling the truth. When he kissed her she let out a soft gasp of surprise before wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him back.

[Dylan]

Dylan picked her up and carried her to the bedroom before laying her down gently. He carefully removed her dress before discarding his shirt on the floor. Dylan's lips reconnect with hers as his fingers slide beneath her panties and start to rub against her folds.

She wrapped her legs around his waist as he picked her up and carried her to his bedroom. She felt the bed under her before feeling him taking off her dress. She kissed him back before feeling him sliding his fingers under her panties and teasing her folds. “Dylan...I-I shouldn’t-“

Dylan didn't wait any longer as he pushed into her tight heat with a moan of her name falling from his lips. "Fuck. I love you Misty." He purrs into her ear as he hit her sweet spot. His hips moving faster against her.

Misty knew Dylan was going to say that. He had said it before, but this time it hit her differently. She could feel the love he had for her. [Dylan]

"Sorry for what? You have nothing to be sorry about." He explains as he waited for the knot to go down. Seeing her eyes flash blue, he knew what she was thinking. Dylan didn't want to see her upset. He knew what he had to do. A few moments later, the knot went down. 

He pulled out of her before snapping their clothes back on and cleaning then both up. "I am sorry Misty. Please forgive me." Dylan could feel tears starting to form at the corners of his eyes. Using his magic, he took the memories of their time in the bedroom away and replaced them with a fake memory of him taking her upstairs to see Sophie. He stores the ball of the memory in a chest he had and locked it shut. He knew what this meant for them but he wouldn't let this destroy her. 

Wiping the tear from his eyes, he brings Misty over to the crib where sophie was sleeping in the adjacent room. "They are so cute when they are sleeping." 

[Misty]

“I always do this to you. I play with your feelings and then I feel like shit because of what I did to Nibs. I care about you so much. How I feel for you...it confuses me. When I’m not around you I have a clear head and I am so in love with Nibs, but when I am around you I- Dylan I...I love you.” Misty confessed before hearing Dylan start apologizing and suddenly the feeling of guilt and sadness went away and she was standing in the room with Dylan looking at Sophie. “Hm yes. You should see Hero, he sleeps with his thumb in his mouth and he is just like his father. He refuses to wake up.” She laughed softly.

[Dylan]

Dylan heard her words and the bracelet glowed white before breaking off his wrist. The influence of Ombra was no longer in him. He couldn't feel it for the first time in a long time. "Maybe they could have a play date sometime. As much as Sophie loves hanging out with Ken, I know she would really want to hang around with someone more her age." He smiles. 

[Misty]

Misty turned to look at him as she smiled back at him. “I think that’s a great idea Dylan.” She replies. “I should get going though. Thank you for listening to me talk about Ken. And thank you for talking to him.” She told him before hugging him. “I really appreciate it Dylan.”

[Dylan]

Dylan hugged her back, "That's what I am here for." He smiles. "Would you like me to walk you to the castle?" The male asks. 

[Misty]
