Because just because something is common doesn’t mean you have to write it. If you don’t like a trope or an arc or a plot structure, you don’t have to write it. 

Just because something is underrepresented doesn’t mean you have to leave it out too. Just because you never see yourself in media doesn’t mean you have to leave yourself out.

I know we’re all told to write what we like to read, and how do we know if we like to read things if we’ve never gotten to read it? If you’ve never gotten to read something that you want to read, then go ahead and write it.

EDIT: this is literally (as my tags have always said) about a fictional sad twink boy and a fictional jock in a fictional scene from a fictional tv show where fights are choreographed and blood is fake so maybe stop telling me, a queer abuse survivor, that I’m an abuser for describing a fictional scene from a fictional tv show that I did not write, direct, produce, star in or otherwise had any influence on
