As of yesterday it has been one week since we brought Piper home. She is still nervous around Sam, but she has at least gotten to the point where she will let him pick her up. Which helps me when I can’t get home to let her out. 

She loves me though. She comes when I call her now instead of just shaking. She even was playing with me on our walk yesterday! She was so cute and reminded me of my old dog Coco. She is really good about taking baths, which I think I am going to try and stretch out to a week and a half instead of twice a week. Her skin is already very dry and living in this dry climate of Lubbock doesn’t help. I found a great oatmeal shampoo which is doing a fantastic job. Her coat has gotten so soft and shiny, and her skin has stopped flaking. She gets olive oil on her food which she devours in private. She literally poops every time we go outside, which happens to be at least 4 times a day. We love to joke that she is perfect for Sam and I because she is also full of shit. :P Yeah, yeah corny we know. Next goal is to get her adjusted to riding in a car so we can visit Dallas with her without her thinking she is going to die. She loves to cuddle with me while I study. Morning cuddles and coffee have become a demand, and if you scratch her neck be prepared to never stop.

Omg our prayers at the clinic have been answered! Someone found and brought in Piper!! 

She is a little worse for the wear and we have been nursing her back to health for the past few days, but she is back! She was found in a couples’ yard basically comatose. They saw her rabies tag and brought her back to us!

We tested her organ values and concluded that she either ate rat poisoning or something that had eaten rat poisoning. We immediately but her on IV fluids with some B-Complex and KCL mixed in. After two days of this treatment and a combination of several other medications she perked up. She now backs when I bring her found, and she plays with one of the other vet techs! Unfortunately once she was well enough to walk we noticed her carrying her leg, and found she dislocated her hip. So now, once her organ values balance again we will have to preform surgery.
