Voilà, my latest tiktok sad masterpiece

As many of you know, I finally began reading All the Young Dudes by MissKingBean89 on AO3 last week. I had resisted picking it up for the longest time because of the hype around it, and I was afraid of the story ultimately falling short of my expectations. I shouldn’t have worried. I was hooked from the first page as the story begins from the perspective of a very young but very precocious eleven-year old Remus Lupin. I am halfway through and I am already in love with the characters, the plot and the writing. All the Young Dudes follows the story of the Marauders, their friends and their contemporaries during their time at Hogwarts. It is canon-compliant and beautifully and poignantly brings to life some of our favourite characters who we get to see so little of in the canon. I am currently reading the chapter “Summer 1977”, their last summer as Hogwarts students before their seventh year. It is so perfect and lovely, and with the rumblings of Voldemort’s rise in the background, I want to read it slowly and savour their innocence and joy.
