The steady realisation that you have missed your bus comes in several stages. 

First there is WTF - when you slowly try to figure out how this could have happened, usually bleary eyed with lack of sleep and uncomfortable shirt that you didn't button properly.

Secondly there is the What Now - as in help what do I do. This is when you realise you don't know anyone who can come get you, and the next bus would make you late. The thought of spending all that money on a taxi ... unbearable. 

Next up there is the Not My Fault - where you prepare to vent either to boss, friends or social media in general about this even though it is very likely your fault and could have been avoided (can you guess where I am right now)

Finally there is the Bitter Fuck - where you just say fuck it, bite the bullet and wait for a new bus while telling your boss how sorry you are you will be late, please don't fire me...
