‘ hey, you’ll be fine. ’ claire chuckled lightly. ‘ they’ve got enough on their plate tonight to take care of yours in a small diner like this. you can have my veggie soup if you want. ’ she pushed the cup of soup across the counter to the young woman sitting at the bar with her. feeding a fry into her own mouth, claire tilted her head, ‘ i wouldn’t recommend salad though. it’s sunday, and the produce truck doesn’t come in until tuesday. the johnsons are good people, but they can’t make a cabbage fresh once it’s been in the fridge for three days. ’
