The history of the character name, or character named, or characters named, Miss Shapely. Once a teacher, lusted after frequently by Mr. Weatherbee, some flirting reciprocates from her. In her first indexed at comics dot appearance, from 1951, she nearly quits her job as teacher -- poor pay -- and there is a line in this moralizing political statement story that "many teachers have to take a second job." Which might explain her judo business. Miss Shapely is a school nurse as early as 1971, in a pin up with a premise along the lines of this 1988 "first days on the job" story.
Amusingly enough, she makes her way into the universe of Riverdale. If the comic book series count as such. Slotted in to her nurse job. A rolling through the index card for obscure references, the name change to "Ms." in this instance is comical. I don't think Ms. Shapely ever shows up again. And given it is not even the tv series, this may count as the most obscure reference to the comic books for Riverdale.

Miss Shapely, Seductress
I guess Bob Montana liked Miss Shapely. She shuffled through his newspaper strips a good handful of times, it appears. Maybe she is based on someone who taught at Haverhill?
The question I have on these two reproductions -- does the fact that her legs are bare in one of them make all the difference in building the sexual tension? (with smudged ink).
