"hair holds memories" but in the blazing world margaret's hair was mostly styled down based on its actual length (longer) and sia's was simply cut short since she was new. in their individual portraits they switched—sia has long hair after living in paradise for many years and after, but margaret's hair in her portrait is styled up making it look short, but that doesn't entirely mean her hair is cut short, it's just that the memories are there, they're just suppressed uncontrollably.
