ANOTHER pet peeve of mine is when I update a fic and I receive 20 comments going "nice!" "❤️" "Thx for the update!" "Love it!" I literally would prefer if you didn't comment at all. The thanks for the update ones I hate the most because I spent days on this 10k chapter and idk if you liked it at all, feels like you're just consuming the things I put out and then forgetting about it. I don't ask for a 5 paragraph review. Everytime I get something along the lines of " hdjdjd man this scene "transcript " was peak ily" I feel so happy because oh you engaged with my fic!! You liked this!! It tells me so much more than a "woohooo update!"
The couple of hate comments I've gotten were much more thrilling, honestly. They read my story and hated it so much they gave me a point by point of the things that sucked. Another told me "you misspelled God, it's with a capital G" and they were talking about something I wrote by the end of the chapter and it was my favorite comment within that ocean of "nice!!" "Good chapter!!"
This is MY pet peeve, ik many other authors are happy with a "❤️" but I'm old school, I want to know what you liked, I want to know if you caught on the clues I'm dropping, I want to know your theories. Does this remind you of something? Do you think my characterization's ass? If you are too tired to comment then don't, I won't know
Another annoying pet peeve of mine is that tweet of the two lesbians talking outside de bar and one of them is like "when you were 13 I was graduating high school isn't that weird" no is not??? That's a 4 to 5 years age gap?? My friend group is composed of people between the ages 25 to 32? Some are dating each other. 4-5 years is not a big gap, is not even weird. You two belong to the same generation, most of the kids cartoon you watched in your childhood overlap, you were affected by the same world wide events.

May has honestly been one heck of a month but despite everything going on lately, I was really determined to make something for mermay this year. I'm glad I didn't miss it for once!
