wrapping up the video, added some other cool sequences of animation to loop with the beginning of the video – meaning i completed the 7 days of the week (I only had saturday, sunday, monday and tuesday in the initial animation)
here's a small sequence that I'm using for "friday"
I used the 360º photographs I have of this book and traced over a couple of the frames, I then manipulated them to make it look like the book was standing up (rather than just spinning on a set axis).
I was thinking about all the 360º gifs that I have and what I should do with them, initially I wanted to integrate them into the video – but during the process, they dint fit in quite right.
I'm thinking that maybe they should exist on their own in another moving image? what made me think of this was when I was revisiting a couple of my research images:
the cover of this book made me think about those simplistic design posters, often featuring work made by a single artist or a collection of one item:
(I used to have a lot of these posters around my sims 4 house builds)
They look kind of like a catalog, like the final pages of a interior design book, where all the items are decontextualised and have a short amount of text stating the name, price and dimensions of each piece.
I was thinking of maybe doing something like this with the items that i photographed.

today was my critique session!
I was asked to prepare a short pdf with some key moments from my work.
As I have been lacking in my Integrated Project, I focused mainly on my Minor Project.
Here are the slides I prepared:
Minor Project
one of the most important things to me in creating (and what originated this project in the first place) is aesthetics – I always try to make my presentations exude the essence of the work. It was important to me to establish the colour pallet, textures and iconography related to this project.
As a visual person (with the addition of adhd) it helps me to see things displayed in ways that are interesting, digestible and fun. I try to include diagrams, soft fonts and short captions that will easily guide people through my often messy thought process.
realising the importance of observational research was essential to this project. I often forget how important it is to document things, but most of my inspiration comes from the day to day. Although they may not be the most valid sources, most of the time when I start a project, I first go on pinterest or instagram and save a bunch of photos – it helps me brainstorm.
The 25 postcards workshop was one of the best tasks I had in all my years at uni, i found it really enlightening even though I was forced to execute it in a less ideal way (digital).
I think it was useful to create this to-do list, it was great for me during the creative process as it kept me focused on what to do next.
check part 2 for the integrated project!

did some editing and stitched together the videos! had to change the background of the animation because i couldn’t go without the gingham in the second half of the video!

panel #2
!! exciting!! i think this is really coming along, next steps:
– decide speed of panel movement;
– choose where gifs/movement over the image could fit;
– think about how the image is introduced after the animation sequence;
some additional thoughts:
i would love to see this printed like a little fold out poster! if i get the chance to, I will try to get that done at uni during the next week !
here is the video with the whole panel!

and here's the full image!
I'm thinking of making another long panel image, which I can then stitch to the end of this one.

remaking kodachrome slides
today I decided to remake some Kodachrome slides with my own old photos from when I was a kid. I really wanted to add that vintage/nostalgia feel to my video, unfortunately, being born into the digital age, most photos where digitally printed and, therefore, not particularly indicative of the past.
What I like the most about these slides, is how small they are – its like they were made to carry around in your purse. When I was younger, I vividly remember my grandparents having a tiny passport-sized copy of my school pictures in their purse and wallet. It's really not something you'd have now, as you've always got your phone on you and can keep thousands of photos on there.
These are a couple of different styles I found online, most of the ones I own (which I found in a shops called Snoopers Paradise in Brighton) are similar to the first one.

I was looking to some collage artist I like and came across decollage. I decided to look into it because I think the duality of collage and decollate (and how the represent different things) would be important to note in my own work. As I was looking for vintage stickers, I came across some really high quality scans of torn paper. I like to save anything good I come across, usually I'll edit the image on photoshop and save it to my cloud under my "things" folder – which I then scavenge through whenever I need to make something.
I had saved all of the images under a single photoshop file and when all the layers were visible it reminded me of decollage.
UB 40 - (16e couche bis) rue Lucas, Vichy, 9 février 1998;
Créteil ville nouvelle, mars 1975;
These are some works by Jacques Villeglé, I really like his use of colour! His work is mostly made from old posters, pasted on and ripped off of large canvases. I was thinking it could look interesting if i did this kind of effect but with my own photographs and other elements related to my childhood.
