After some messing around and a lot of googling (mostly for the wrong thing) I have finally got this little app to work. The reason it did not work was I was missing a demultiplexer plugin for mrl, now that I have it I can use it.

I will write a bigger post/review after I have had chance to use it for a few days to see how it stacks up against rhythmbox. 

just in case you are having the same problem as me then use this.

sudo apt-get install libxine1-all-plugins

Minitunes, a great music player made by the Minitube developer has reached version 1.0. The new version is of course available in the main WebUpd8 PPA.

The new version finally brings a search feature to Minutunes, a new icon, playlist restore across sessions and 10 translations.

Please note that I've only tested the latest Minitunes 1.0 on Ubuntu 11.04.
